Cette étape fait suite à l’installation du bras inférieur, du noyau central ainsi que des bras horizontaux des façades de la Nativité et de la Passion. Chaque élément, conçu avec une précision remarquable, présente une forme carrée à son extrémité extérieure et une section octogonale côté intérieur, là où il s’assemble au cœur de la structure. Chacune de ces pièces monumentales pèse environ 12,8 tonnes et affiche des dimensions impressionnantes de 4,40 m x 4,50 m x 4,50 m.

Une fois entièrement achevée, la croix culminera à 17 mètres de hauteur, soit l’équivalent d’un immeuble de cinq étages, pour une envergure de 13,5 mètres, dominant majestueusement la skyline barcelonaise.

Œuvre visionnaire de l’architecte Antoni Gaudí, la Sagrada Família est en construction ininterrompue depuis plus d’un siècle. La première pierre fut posée en 1882, donnant naissance à un projet architectural unique au monde, mêlant foi, nature et géométrie sacrée.

En 2025, la basilique a franchi un cap historique en devenant la plus haute église du monde. La pose du premier élément de la croix au sommet de la tour centrale a porté l’édifice à 162,9 mètres de hauteur.
