Altrad rachète Doosan Babcock
Altrad a conclu un accord pour acquérir Doosan Babcock.
Doosan Babcock devrait ainsi rejoindre le même groupe français qui a précédemment acquis Cape Group, Actavo (ex Deborah Services), Beaver 84, NSG et, plus récemment, RMD Kwikform d'Interserve.
Doosan Babcock, basé sur chenilles, fournit des services d'ingénierie aux secteurs de l'électricité et de l'énergie. Parmi ses principaux clients figurent l'Autorité britannique de l'énergie atomique et Sellafield. Les derniers comptes montrent des revenus de 256 millions de livres sterling en 2020 et un bénéfice avant impôts de 5,5 millions de livres sterling. Elle compte 4 000 employés.
La transaction devrait être conclue au cours de 2022.

Le groupe Altrad a été fondé à Montpellier, en France, par Mohed Altrad, né aux alentours de 1948 dans une tribu nomade en Syrie et orphelin très jeune. Il a commencé par racheter pour un franc un fabricant d'échafaudages en difficulté et possède aujourd'hui un groupe international au chiffre d'affaires de 2,7 milliards d'euros et employant 52 000 personnes.
Altrad sponsorise à la fois l'équipe nationale française de rugby à XV et les All Blacks, et possède également le club de rugby de Montpellier. En 2015, Mohed Altrad est devenu le premier Français à remporter le prix de l'entrepreneur mondial de l'année.

Altrad takes over Doosan Babcock
Altrad has agreed a deal to acquire Doosan Babcock.
Doosan Babcock is thus set to join the same French group that has previously acquired Cape Group, Actavo (formerly Deborah Services), Beaver 84, NSG and, most recently, RMD Kwikform from Interserve.
Crawler-based Doosan Babcock provides engineering services to the power and energy industries. Key clients include the UK Atomic Energy Authority and Sellafield. Latest accounts show revenue of £256m in 2020 and a pre-tax profit of £5.5m. It has 4,000 employees.
The transaction is expected to conclude within 2022.
Altrad chief executive for the UK, Ireland & Nordics, Padraig Somers, said: “We are delighted to welcome Doosan Babcock into the Altrad family. The Altrad group was founded in Montpellier, France, by Mohed Altrad, who was born sometime around 1948 in a nomadic tribe in Syria, and orphaned at an early age. Altrad sponsors both the French rugby union national team and the All Blacks, and also owns Montpellier rugby club. In 2015 Mohed Altrad became the first Frenchman to win the World Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Altrad heeft overeenstemming bereikt over de overname van Doosan Babcock.
Doosan Babcock zal dus toetreden tot dezelfde Franse groep die eerder Cape Group, Actavo (voorheen Deborah Services), Beaver 84, NSG en, meest recentelijk, RMD Kwikform van Interserve heeft overgenomen.
Het op crawler gebaseerde Doosan Babcock levert technische diensten aan de energie- en energie-industrie. Belangrijke klanten zijn onder meer de UK Atomic Energy Authority en Sellafield. De meest recente rekeningen laten een omzet zien van £ 256 miljoen in 2020 en een winst vóór belastingen van £ 5,5 miljoen. Het heeft 4.000 medewerkers.
De transactie zal naar verwachting in 2022 worden afgerond.
