En août, Atlantic Nickel a signé son meilleur mois depuis la reprise des opérations sous l’action d’Appian Capital en 2019, avec 12 464 tonnes de concentré de nickel produites et un taux de récupération métallurgique record de 86,72 %.
Cette performance prolonge un premier semestre particulièrement solide : 66,5 millions de dollars d’EBITDA ajusté, 163,3 millions de dollars de revenus et 3,39 millions de tonnes de minerai traitées. Avec un coût C1 moyen de 3,10 $/lb, Santa Rita confirme son positionnement parmi les producteurs les plus compétitifs.
Mais le véritable changement se joue désormais sous la surface.
Après plusieurs années d’exploitation à ciel ouvert, Atlantic Nickel prépare la transformation de Santa Rita en mine souterraine, une évolution destinée à prolonger sa durée de vie au-delà de 30 ans, avec un objectif d’environ 30 000 tonnes de nickel équivalent par an.
Le projet est déjà en mouvement. Après l’étude de préfaisabilité achevée en 2024, l’étude de faisabilité définitive progresse tandis que les travaux préparatoires avancent simultanément. En mars 2026, le premier tir de mine du South Portal a marqué une étape symbolique. Depuis, plus de 600 mètres de galeries ont été creusés.
Derrière les chiffres, Atlantic Nickel revendique également une autre priorité : la sécurité. Avec un LTIFR de 0,63 sur douze mois, plus de 4 079 actions de leadership visible et 54 300 heures de formation HSE au premier semestre 2026, Santa Rita veut faire de sa transformation industrielle une transformation responsable.
Une production record aujourd’hui. Une mine souterraine en construction demain. À Santa Rita, le nickel brésilien prépare déjà son prochain chapitre.

In the heart of Bahia, Brazil, the Santa Rita mine has just written a new chapter in its history. In August, Atlantic Nickel recorded its best month since operations resumed under Appian Capital in 2019, with 12,464 tonnes of nickel concentrate produced and a record metallurgical recovery rate of 86.72%.

This performance follows a particularly strong first half: $66.5 million in adjusted EBITDA, $163.3 million in revenue, and 3.39 million tonnes of ore processed. With an average C1 cost of $3.10/lb, Santa Rita confirms its position among the most competitive producers.

But the real change is now happening beneath the surface.

After several years of open-pit mining, Atlantic Nickel is preparing to convert Santa Rita into an underground mine, a move designed to extend its lifespan beyond 30 years, with a target of approximately 30,000 tonnes of nickel equivalent per year.

The project is already underway. Following the pre-feasibility study completed in 2024, the final feasibility study is progressing while preparatory work is advancing simultaneously. In March 2026, the first blast of the South Portal mine marked a symbolic milestone. Since then, more than 600 meters of tunnels have been excavated.

Beyond the figures, Atlantic Nickel also emphasizes another priority: safety. With a LTIFR of 0.63 over twelve months, more than 4,079 visible leadership actions, and 54,300 hours of HSE training in the first half of 2026, Santa Rita aims to make its industrial transformation a responsible one.

Record production today. An underground mine will be under construction tomorrow. In Santa Rita, Brazilian nickel is already preparing its next chapter.

In augustus beleefde Atlantic Nickel haar beste maand sinds de hervatting van de activiteiten onder leiding van Appian Capital in 2019, met een productie van 12.464 ton nikkelconcentraat en een recordhoog metallurgisch rendement van 86,72%.

Deze prestatie volgt op een bijzonder sterke eerste helft: een aangepaste EBITDA van $ 66,5 miljoen, een omzet van $ 163,3 miljoen en 3,39 miljoen ton verwerkt erts. Met een gemiddelde C1-kostprijs van $ 3,10/lb bevestigt Santa Rita haar positie als een van de meest concurrerende producenten.

Maar de echte verandering vindt nu plaats onder de oppervlakte.

Na enkele jaren dagbouw bereidt Atlantic Nickel zich voor om Santa Rita om te bouwen tot een ondergrondse mijn. Deze stap is bedoeld om de levensduur van de mijn te verlengen tot meer dan 30 jaar, met een beoogde productie van ongeveer 30.000 ton nikkel-equivalent per jaar.

Het project is al in volle gang. Na de voorstudie die in 2024 werd afgerond, vordert de definitieve haalbaarheidsstudie, terwijl tegelijkertijd de voorbereidende werkzaamheden worden uitgevoerd. In maart 2026 markeerde de eerste explosie van de zuidelijke ingang van de mijn een symbolische mijlpaal. Sindsdien is er meer dan 600 meter aan tunnels uitgegraven.

Naast de cijfers benadrukt Atlantic Nickel ook een andere prioriteit: veiligheid. Met een LTIFR van 0,63 over twaalf maanden, meer dan 4.079 zichtbare leiderschapsacties en 54.300 uur HSE-training in de eerste helft van 2026, streeft Santa Rita ernaar om van de industriële transformatie een verantwoorde onderneming te maken.

Recordproductie vandaag. Morgen wordt er een ondergrondse mijn gebouwd. In Santa Rita bereidt Braziliaans nikkel zich al voor op een nieuw hoofdstuk.
