Jiří Hložek, originaire de Vážany nad Litavou en République tchèque, est actif dans la production agricole primaire sur l'exploitation familiale et gère 190 hectares de terres agricoles. Malgré ses problèmes de santé, Jiří apprécie travailler avec cette mini-pelle et la considère même comme un moyen de se détendre.

Tout agriculteur a besoin de faire des travaux d'aménagement paysager de temps à autre, sur ou à proximité de sa ferme. Jiří Hložek a donc emprunté une pelle par le passé. Cependant, le loueur de matériel de construction le plus proche se trouvant à Brno, il devait transporter la machine jusqu'à Vážany nad Litavou, puis revenir. De plus, la location de la pelle ne prenait souvent que quelques heures. Il arrivait parfois que la pelle ne soit pas disponible à la date prévue. Par exemple, à plusieurs reprises, l'entreprise est arrivée à la date convenue, mais la météo n'était pas favorable. Les travaux n'ont pas pu être réalisés, mais l'entreprise a dû être payée.

« Comme j'aime visiter les fermes autrichiennes et allemandes, j'ai commencé à chercher une excavatrice là-bas. En fait, une ferme sur cinq de taille similaire en possède une. Les agriculteurs locaux la louent entre eux. Ils utilisent leur propre matériel et aménagent eux-mêmes leurs espaces verts. Je me suis inspiré de leur expérience et j'ai commencé à chercher des excavatrices plus anciennes. La plupart étaient en mauvais état et souvent le vendeur ne connaissait même pas la machine. Ils achètent des machines aux enchères et les revendent. De plus, une vieille machine vaut la moitié du prix d'une neuve », explique Jiří Hložek.

Il a donc décidé d'investir dans une nouvelle machine. Il a commencé à fréquenter les concessionnaires de Brno de marques renommées de matériel de construction. « Quand je suis allé chez le concessionnaire et que je lui ai expliqué que j'étais agriculteur et que je voulais une pelle pour mon usage personnel et des travaux de drainage occasionnels, j'ai eu l'impression d'être ignoré », a-t-il raconté. « J'ai découvert Bobcat par hasard. Je ne savais même pas qu'ils avaient un bureau à Brno. J'avais déjà une certaine expérience avec eux. Je connaissais leurs chargeuses compactes. J'ai apprécié leur approche dès le départ. Ils m'ont présenté de manière pratique les machines qui m'intéressaient. Bobcat avait une attitude professionnelle et ne se souciait pas de savoir si je suis agriculteur ou d'une grande entreprise de construction. »

Jiří Hložek souhaitait initialement une pelle Bobcat E19 plus petite, mais il a finalement été convaincu par la Bobcat E27 de deux tonnes et demie et est maintenant heureux d'avoir investi dans un modèle plus grand et plus puissant. Il a également bénéficié d'un financement avantageux directement auprès de Bobcat. « Si j'achetais une machine plus ancienne, je paierais la moitié du prix. Mais les premiers problèmes sont vite apparus : fuites d'huile, pannes, etc. Dans les années 90, nous réparions nos machines à genoux et je ne voulais plus subir cela.

« Aujourd'hui, je dois prendre le volant, ou plutôt les manettes, et travailler silencieusement. Je préfère également investir dans de nouvelles machines agricoles. La pelle fonctionne parfaitement jusqu'à présent. Même après huit heures de travaux de drainage, elle est toujours agréable à utiliser. J'apprécie également le fait que la machine soit développée et fabriquée à Dobris, près de Prague. La livraison des pièces détachées sera très rapide grâce au vaste réseau de succursales du concessionnaire tchèque », se félicite le propriétaire.

L'agriculteur Jiří Hložek n'a pas la vie facile : il souffre depuis plus de 20 ans d'une maladie auto-immune qui lui a causé d'importants problèmes de santé ces dernières années. Il se déplace en fauteuil roulant ou avec une assistance. Selon son état de santé, il peut monter seul dans la machine, ou son fils peut l'aider. Une fois installé dans sa Bobcat E27, il travaille comme un homme en pleine forme : « La pelle est ma machine préférée. Je la commande entièrement à l'aide de leviers et de joysticks et je travaille pleinement, même toute la journée sans problème. C'est incomparable avec la conduite de tracteurs et d'autres machines à embrayage classique. En exagérant un peu, on pourrait dire que je me détends vraiment dans la Bobcat. Je peux tout faire moi-même, j'ai tout au plus parfois besoin d'un coup de main pour changer d'accessoires », explique Jiří Hložek. « M. Jiří Hložek from Vážany nad Litavou in the Czech Republic is engaged in agricultural primary production on his family farm and manages 190 hectares of agricultural land. He and his family focus mainly on crop production. They grow food and feed wheat, barley, peas, meadow hay and alfalfa for horse and livestock breeders. In addition to farm equipment, they operate a Bobcat E27 mini excavator, which they use for construction and landscaping both on and around the farm. Despite his health problems, Jiří enjoys working with the compact excavator and even considers it a form of relaxation.

Every farmer needs to do landscaping from time to time, either on or near the farm. Jiří Hložek has therefore borrowed an excavator in the past. However, the nearest construction equipment rental shop is in Brno, so he had to transport the machine to Vážany nad Litavou and then back again. Moreover, the excavator rental often took only a few hours. Sometimes it happened that the excavator was not available on the set date. Another solution was to entrust the work to a company. This solution also proved to be less than ideal. For example, on several occasions, the company arrived on the agreed date, but the weather was not suitable. The work could not be done, but the company still had to be paid.

"Since I like to visit Austrian and German farms, I started looking for an excavator there. In fact, every fifth farm of similar size there has an excavator. The farmers there rent it among themselves. They use their own equipment and do their own landscaping. I took inspiration from them and started looking for older excavators. Most of them were in deplorable condition and often the seller didn't even know anything about the machine. They just buy machines through auctions and resell them. Moreover, an older machine is worth half the price of a new one," said Jiří Hložek.

He therefore decided to invest in a new machine. He started to go around to Brno dealers of renowned brands of construction equipment. "When I went to the dealer and told him that I was a farmer and wanted the excavator for my own use and occasional drainage work, I had the feeling of being given the cold shoulder," he shared his experience and continued. I came across Bobcat by accident. I didn't even know they had an office in Brno. I already had some experience with them. I knew their skid-steer loaders. I liked their approach to me right from the start. They showed me in a practical way the machines I was interested in. Bobcat had a professional attitude and didn't care if I was a farmer or a big construction company."

Jiří Hložek originally wanted a smaller Bobcat E19 excavator, but was eventually convinced by the two-and-a-half-tonne Bobcat E27 and is now glad he invested in a larger and more powerful model. He also took advantage of favourable financing directly from Bobcat. "If I bought an older machine, I'd pay half the price. But soon the first problems would appear - oil leaks, faults, etc. In the 90s, we used to fix our machines on our knees and I didn't want to go through that anymore.

“Today I need to get behind the wheel, or rather the joysticks, and work quietly. I also prefer to invest in new machines for agricultural equipment. The excavator has been working without any faults so far. Even after eight hours of drainage work, it is still pleasant to work with. I also appreciate the fact that the machine is developed and manufactured in Dobris near Prague. The delivery of any spare parts will be very fast thanks to the extensive network of branches of the Czech dealer," praises the owner.

The Bobcat E27 is equipped with a proven Kubota three-cylinder engine, with minimal electronics and a mechanical injection pump. The excavator is suitable for all small-scale earthmoving jobs, where its compact size and easy transportability are an advantage. The Bobcat E27 is a fully equipped machine with standard overhang and maximum power and belongs to the popular 2-3 tonne category.

Ninety percent of the work is carried out by the excavator with a slope plough. In addition to this, Jiří Hložek also uses two sizes of toothed ploughs, most often for excavation. A hydraulic grabbing device is always available, which is used, for example, when handling timber or branches. The owner is also considering investing in a mulcher. This attachment can be changed conveniently from the operator's seat via a hydraulic quick-release system. The excavator's long arm is homologated as a hook carrier, so the owner also uses it to transport and place logs, concrete kerbs, etc. The owner uses the excavator's boom not only to stabilize the machine during drainage work, but also to spread gravel and soil.

Farmer Jiří Hložek does not have it easy - for over 20 years he has suffered from an autoimmune disease that has caused him considerable health problems in recent years. He moves around in a wheelchair or with support. Depending on his current state of health, he is able to get into the machine on his own, or his son can help him. Once he is in his Bobcat E27, however, he is working like a fully healthy man: "The excavator is my favourite machine. I can operate it completely via levers and joysticks and can work fully, even working all day is no problem. There is no comparison with operating tractors and other machines with a conventional clutch. With a bit of exaggeration, you could say that I actually relax in the Bobcat. I am able to operate everything myself, at most I sometimes need a helping hand when changing attachments," says Jiří Hložek.

"Mr. Hložek and his son came to see the Bobcat stand at the Agrotechnika trade fair in Germany. He surprised us very pleasantly with his positive attitude and almost personal relationship to our brand. We are glad that the Bobcat excavator allows him to comfortably do a full-fledged job that he finds fulfilling and enjoyable. De dichtstbijzijnde verhuurlocatie voor bouwmachines bevindt zich echter in Brno, dus hij moest de machine naar Vážany nad Litavou vervoeren en weer terug. "Omdat ik graag Oostenrijkse en Duitse boerderijen bezoek, ben ik daar op zoek gegaan naar een graafmachine. Sterker nog, elke vijfde boerderij van vergelijkbare grootte heeft er een. De boeren daar huren er onderling. Ze gebruiken hun eigen materieel en doen hun eigen tuinonderhoud. Ik liet me door hen inspireren en ging op zoek naar oudere graafmachines. De meeste waren in slechte staat en vaak wist de verkoper er niets van. Ze kopen machines gewoon via veilingen en verkopen ze weer door. Bovendien is een oudere machine de helft waard van een nieuwe," aldus Jiří Hložek.

Hij besloot daarom te investeren in een nieuwe machine. Hij begon langs te gaan bij dealers in Brno van gerenommeerde merken bouwmachines. Jiří Hložek wilde oorspronkelijk een kleinere Bobcat E19-graafmachine, maar raakte uiteindelijk overtuigd door de Bobcat E27 van tweeënhalve ton en is nu blij dat hij in een groter en krachtiger model heeft geïnvesteerd. De graafmachine werkt tot nu toe zonder problemen. Zelfs na acht uur drainagewerk is het nog steeds prettig om ermee te werken. Ik waardeer ook dat de machine in Dobris bij Praag wordt ontwikkeld en geproduceerd. De levering van eventuele reserveonderdelen verloopt zeer snel dankzij het uitgebreide netwerk van vestigingen van de Tsjechische dealer", aldus de eigenaar.
