D’ici 2026, la Ville d’Amsterdam accueillera dans ses rues 40 camions DAF XD Electric, spécialement conçus pour la collecte des déchets. Ces véhicules modernes, livrés dans différentes configurations de carrosserie adaptées aux divers types de collecte, incarneront la volonté de la municipalité de réduire au maximum les émissions de CO₂ et de particules polluantes.

Cette commande ambitieuse s’inscrit pleinement dans la stratégie environnementale d’Amsterdam, déterminée à conjuguer efficacité opérationnelle et respect de la planète. Fournis par le concessionnaire DAF Truckland et carrossés en partie par VDL-Translift, ces véhicules électriques illustrent la transition vers une gestion des déchets plus propre et silencieuse.

Une conception pensée pour les carrossiers

L’un des atouts majeurs du DAF XD Electric réside dans sa grande « carrossabilité ». Les batteries peuvent être installées à différents emplacements sur le châssis, offrant ainsi aux carrossiers une liberté totale sans nécessité de modifier les composants électriques. Cet espace libéré permet également l’installation aisée d’équipements complémentaires comme des stabilisateurs ou des grues.

Le choix des batteries LFP

Amsterdam a également privilégié la technologie lithium-fer-phosphate (LFP). Robustes, exemptes de cobalt et de nickel, ces batteries garantissent une durée de vie prolongée et supportent sans difficulté des charges répétées à 100 %. Leur stabilité thermique en fait un choix idéal pour un usage urbain intensif, alliant sécurité et fiabilité.

Un camion taillé pour la ville

Le DAF XD Electric est particulièrement adapté aux ruelles animées d’Amsterdam. Grâce à une cabine à la visibilité exceptionnelle, un pare-brise plongeant, une caméra de surveillance latérale et une entrée basse à deux marches ergonomiques, il assure à la fois sécurité et confort au conducteur. Jusqu’à trois sièges accueillent l’équipage chargé de la collecte, dans un environnement fonctionnel et moderne.

Une flotte polyvalente

Les 40 camions commandés seront répartis selon quatre types de carrosseries :

13 bennes à chargement arrière,

10 camions-grues à bras et crochet,

17 véhicules à chargement frontal pour la collecte des conteneurs.

Ainsi, la Ville pourra gérer presque tous les flux de déchets ménagers et professionnels sans émissions polluantes.

Puissance et autonomie au rendez-vous

Chaque camion sera équipé de trois packs de batteries LFP de 105 kWh (extensibles jusqu’à cinq), alimentant un moteur électrique de 170 ou 220 kW. Un ePTO de 90 kW fournira quant à lui l’énergie nécessaire aux systèmes de levage et aux superstructures.

Pour Roland Heijnen, directeur du service Déchets et Ressources de la municipalité d’Amsterdam, cette acquisition représente bien plus qu’un investissement technique :

Amsterdam Embraces the Future with 40 All-Electric Dump Trucks

The Dutch capital is taking another step towards a sustainable future. By 2026, the City of Amsterdam will welcome 40 DAF XD Electric trucks, specially designed for waste collection, to its streets. These modern vehicles, delivered in various body configurations adapted to various types of collection, will embody the municipality's commitment to minimizing CO₂ and particulate emissions.

This ambitious order is fully in line with Amsterdam's environmental strategy, determined to combine operational efficiency with respect for the planet. Supplied by the DAF dealership Truckland and partly bodied by VDL-Translift, these electric vehicles illustrate the transition to cleaner and quieter waste management.

Designed for bodybuilders

One of the major advantages of the DAF XD Electric is its excellent "bodyworkability." The batteries can be installed in various locations on the chassis, giving bodybuilders complete freedom without the need to modify electrical components. This freed-up space also allows for the easy installation of additional equipment such as stabilizers or cranes.

Choosing LFP batteries

Amsterdam also favored lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) technology. Robust, cobalt- and nickel-free, these batteries guarantee a long service life and easily withstand repeated 100% charging. Their thermal stability makes them an ideal choice for intensive urban use, combining safety and reliability.

A truck built for the city

The DAF XD Electric is particularly suited to Amsterdam's busy streets. Thanks to a cab with exceptional visibility, a sloping windshield, a side surveillance camera, and a low entrance with two ergonomic steps, it ensures both safety and comfort for the driver. Up to three seats accommodate the collection crew in a functional and modern environment.

A versatile fleet

The 40 trucks ordered will be divided into four body types:

13 rear-loading dump trucks,

10 hook-and-arm crane trucks,

17 front-loading vehicles for container collection.

This will enable the City to manage almost all household and commercial waste streams without polluting emissions.

Power and range guaranteed

Each truck will be equipped with three 105 kWh LFP battery packs (expandable to five), powering a 170 or 220 kW electric motor. A 90 kW ePTO will provide the power required for the lifting systems and superstructures.

A firm belief in electric vehicles

For Roland Heijnen, Director of the Waste and Resources Department at the Municipality of Amsterdam, this acquisition represents much more than a technical investment:

Amsterdam gaf ook de voorkeur aan lithium-ijzerfosfaat (LFP)-technologie. Deze robuuste, kobalt- en nikkelvrije accu's garanderen een lange levensduur en zijn bestand tegen herhaaldelijk 100% laden. Hun thermische stabiliteit maakt ze een ideale keuze voor intensief stedelijk gebruik, waarbij veiligheid en betrouwbaarheid worden gecombineerd.

Een truck gebouwd voor de stad

De DAF XD Electric is bijzonder geschikt voor de drukke straten van Amsterdam. Dankzij een cabine met uitstekend zicht, een aflopende voorruit, een bewakingscamera aan de zijkant en een lage instap met twee ergonomische treden, garandeert hij zowel veiligheid als comfort voor de chauffeur. Tot drie zitplaatsen bieden plaats aan de inzamelploeg in een functionele en moderne omgeving.

Een veelzijdige vloot

De 40 bestelde trucks worden verdeeld in vier carrosserievarianten:

13 achterladers,

10 haakarmkranen,

17 voorladers voor containerinzameling.

Hiermee kan de gemeente vrijwel alle huishoudelijke en commerciële afvalstromen verwerken zonder vervuilende emissies.

Vermogen en actieradius gegarandeerd

Elke vrachtwagen is uitgerust met drie LFP-batterijpakketten van 105 kWh (uitbreidbaar tot vijf), die een elektromotor van 170 of 220 kW aandrijven. Een ePTO van 90 kW levert het benodigde vermogen voor de hefsystemen en opbouw.

Een sterk geloof in elektrische voertuigen

Voor Roland Heijnen, directeur van de afdeling Afval en Grondstoffen van de gemeente Amsterdam, is deze aankoop veel meer dan een technische investering:
