La production en série des XD et XF Electric débutera au printemps 2023
DAF agrandit ses installations de production avec une nouvelle usine d'assemblage de camions électriques à Eindhoven, où la production des DAF XD et XF Electric de nouvelle génération débutera ce printemps. Ces véhicules entièrement électriques offrent une autonomie de plus de 500 kilomètres « sans émissions », ce qui représente une étape importante de DAF dans la poursuite d'un transport routier encore plus propre.
Le tout nouvel ensemble de camions électriques est situé dans les locaux de DAF Trucks à Eindhoven. La construction de cette usine de camions électriques a été achevée en dix-huit mois.
Les premiers camions DAF XD et XF Electric sortiront de la chaîne de montage ce printemps. DAF s'attend à ce que la production atteigne plusieurs milliers de véhicules par an au cours des prochaines années, conformément à la demande croissante de camions entièrement électriques.
Porteurs 4x2 et 6x2 et tracteurs 4x2
La base de chaque camion DAF électrique de nouvelle génération est ce que l'on appelle un planeur, un châssis sans transmission mais avec une cabine. Le planeur est fabriqué sur la principale chaîne de production de camions de DAF. Les porteurs 4x2 et 6x2 et les tracteurs 4x2 sont ensuite transformés en camions électriques XD et XF selon un processus en huit étapes sur la chaîne de production d'assemblage de camions électriques.
Deux chaînes de montage
La nouvelle usine dispose en fait de deux chaînes de montage. Les batteries sont assemblées sur la chaîne de sous-assemblage tandis que tous les composants haute tension, y compris les batteries et la transmission, sont montés sur le châssis sur la chaîne de montage principale. Des contrôles minutieux sont ensuite effectués aux gares finales pour s'assurer que le camion est en parfait état de fonctionnement.
Sur-mesure
Comme pour tous les véhicules DAF, les XD et XF Electric sont conçus sur mesure pour répondre parfaitement aux souhaits de chaque client. C'est pourquoi les transmissions électriques PACCAR sont modulaires. En plus de la disponibilité de deux moteurs PACCAR EX (avec six niveaux de performance différents), les batteries peuvent également être montées dans différentes positions sur le châssis, selon les exigences du client. Cela garantit une flexibilité maximale pour les carrossiers.

Les DAF XD et XF Electric ont été lancés au salon IAA de Hanovre en septembre 2022. Les chaînes cinématiques PACCAR entièrement électriques délivrent des puissances comprises entre 170 et 350 kW (210 à 480 ch). DAF propose également un choix de batteries utilisant une approche modulaire. Le plus petit pack contient deux "chaînes" qui ont ensemble une capacité de 210 kWh et offrent une autonomie allant jusqu'à 200 kilomètres. Le plus grand possède 5 « strings » d'une capacité de 525 kWh et peut atteindre une autonomie de plus de 500 kilomètres. Les chariots électriques sont parfaitement équipés pour une charge rapide et même la plus grande batterie peut être chargée de 0 % à 80 % en un peu plus de 45 minutes.
Camion international de l'année
Le tout nouveau DAF XD représente une nouvelle référence dans le segment de la distribution grâce à ses caractéristiques de sécurité et d'efficacité inégalées et à son confort de conduite sublime. Sans surprise, la série DAF XD a récemment été couronnée « Camion international de l'année 2023 », suivant les traces des DAF XF, XG et XG⁺, qui ont été nommés « Camion international de l'année 2022 ». L'ADN unique des XD, XF, XG et XG⁺ est également une caractéristique standard des XD Electric et XF Electric.

Series production of XD and XF Electric to start in spring 2023
DAF is expanding its production facilities with a new Electric Truck Assembly factory in Eindhoven, where the production of the New Generation DAF XD and XF Electric will commence this spring. These fully electric vehicles provide a range of over 500 ‘emission-free’ kilometres, which represents an important step by DAF in the pursuit of even cleaner road transport.
The brand-new Electric Truck Assembly is situated at the DAF Trucks premises in Eindhoven. Construction of this factory for electric trucks was completed in eighteen months.
The first DAF XD and XF Electric trucks will roll off the assembly line this spring. DAF expects production to rise to several thousand vehicles per annum over the next few years, in line with the increasing demand for fully electric trucks.
4x2 and 6x2 rigids and 4x2 tractors
The basis for each new generation electric DAF truck is a so-called glider, a chassis without a driveline but with a cab. The glider is manufactured on DAF’s main truck production line. The 4x2 and 6x2 rigids and 4x2 tractors are then completed to XD and XF Electric trucks in an eight-step process on the Electric Truck Assembly production line.
Two assembly lines
The new factory actually has two assembly lines. The battery packs are assembled on the sub-assembly line while all high-voltage components, including batteries and driveline, are mounted on the chassis on the main assembly line. Thorough checks are then carried out at the final stations to ensure that the truck is in perfect working order.
Tailor-made
As with every DAF vehicle, the XD and XF Electric are tailor-made to perfectly match the wishes of each individual customer. This is why the electric PACCAR drivelines are modular. In addition to the availability of two PACCAR EX engines (with six different performance ratings), the battery packs can also be mounted in different positions on the chassis, depending on the customer’s requirements. This guarantees maximum flexibility for bodybuilders.

The DAF XD and XF Electric were launched at the IAA fair in Hanover in September 2022. The fully electric PACCAR drivelines deliver outputs of between 170 and 350 kW (210 to 480 hp). DAF also offers a choice of battery packs using a modular approach. The smallest pack contains two ‘strings’ which together have a capacity of 210 kWh and offers a range of up to 200 kilometres. The largest has 5 ‘strings’ with a capacity of 525 kWh and can achieve a range of over 500 kilometres. The electric trucks are perfectly equipped for rapid charging and even the largest battery pack can be charged from 0% to 80% in just over 45 minutes.
International Truck of the Year
The brand-new DAF XD represents a new benchmark in the distribution segment thanks to its unparalleled safety features and efficiency and its sublime driver comfort. Not surprisingly, the DAF XD series was recently crowned ‘International Truck of the Year 2023’, following in the footsteps of the DAF XF, XG and XG⁺, which were named ‘International Truck of the Year 2022’. The unique DNA of the XD, XF, XG and XG⁺ is also a standard feature of the XD Electric and XF Electric.

De serieproductie van de XD en XF Electric start in het voorjaar van 2023
DAF breidt haar productiefaciliteiten uit met een nieuwe Electric Truck Assembly-fabriek in Eindhoven, waar dit voorjaar de productie van de New Generation DAF XD en XF Electric van start gaat. Deze volledig elektrische voertuigen hebben een actieradius van ruim 500 ‘emissievrije’ kilometers, waarmee DAF een belangrijke stap zet in het streven naar een nog schoner wegtransport.
De gloednieuwe Electric Truck Assembly staat op het terrein van DAF Trucks in Eindhoven. De bouw van deze fabriek voor elektrische vrachtwagens is in anderhalf jaar tijd gerealiseerd.
Dit voorjaar rollen de eerste DAF XD en XF Electric trucks van de lopende band. DAF verwacht dat de productie de komende jaren zal stijgen tot enkele duizenden voertuigen per jaar, in lijn met de toenemende vraag naar volledig elektrische trucks.
4x2 en 6x2 bakwagens en 4x2 trekkers
De basis voor elke nieuwe generatie elektrische DAF truck is een zogenaamde glider, een chassis zonder aandrijflijn maar met een cabine. Het zweefvliegtuig wordt geproduceerd op de belangrijkste productielijn voor vrachtwagens van DAF. De 4x2- en 6x2-bakwagens en 4x2-trekkers worden vervolgens in acht stappen op de Electric Truck Assembly-productielijn voltooid tot XD- en XF Electric-trucks.
Twee assemblagelijnen
De nieuwe fabriek heeft eigenlijk twee assemblagelijnen. De batterijpakketten worden op de subassemblagelijn geassembleerd, terwijl alle hoogspanningscomponenten, inclusief batterijen en aandrijflijn, op het chassis op de hoofdassemblagelijn worden gemonteerd. Vervolgens worden er grondige controles uitgevoerd op de eindstations om ervoor te zorgen dat de vrachtwagen in perfecte staat verkeert.
Handgemaakt
Zoals bij elk DAF-voertuig, worden de XD en XF Electric op maat gemaakt om perfect aan te sluiten bij de wensen van elke individuele klant. Daarom zijn de elektrische aandrijflijnen van PACCAR modulair opgebouwd. Naast de beschikbaarheid van twee PACCAR EX-motoren (met zes verschillende vermogensklassen), kunnen de accupakketten ook op verschillende posities op het chassis worden gemonteerd, afhankelijk van de wensen van de klant. Dit garandeert maximale flexibiliteit voor carrosseriebouwers.

Op de IAA in Hannover in september 2022 werden de DAF XD en XF Electric gelanceerd. De volledig elektrische PACCAR-aandrijflijnen leveren vermogens van 170 tot 350 kW (210 tot 480 pk). DAF biedt ook een keuze uit batterijpakketten volgens een modulaire aanpak. Het kleinste pakket bevat twee ‘strings’ die samen een vermogen hebben van 210 kWh en een actieradius tot 200 kilometer bieden. De grootste heeft 5 ‘strings’ met een vermogen van 525 kWh en kan een actieradius halen van ruim 500 kilometer. De elektrische trucks zijn perfect uitgerust voor snelladen en zelfs het grootste accupakket kan in iets meer dan 45 minuten van 0% naar 80% worden opgeladen.
Internationale vrachtwagen van het jaar
De gloednieuwe DAF XD vormt een nieuwe maatstaf in het distributiesegment dankzij zijn ongeëvenaarde veiligheidsvoorzieningen en efficiëntie en zijn sublieme chauffeurscomfort. Het is niet verrassend dat de DAF XD-serie onlangs werd gekroond tot ‘International Truck of the Year 2023’, in de voetsporen van de DAF XF, XG en XG⁺, die werden uitgeroepen tot ‘International Truck of the Year 2022’. Het unieke DNA van de XD, XF, XG en XG⁺ is ook een standaardkenmerk van de XD Electric en XF Electric.
