 Le Terril de Saint-Antoine est un terril situé sur les communes de Boussu et de Dour dans la province de Hainaut.

Le terrain est constitué de roche (schiste) qui a été déblayée jusqu’à une grande profondeur. Les dernières activités minières remontent aux années 1960, ce qui signifie que nous travaillons sur un terrain très stable. Jusqu'en 2012, d'importants volumes de roche de schiste étaient encore traités sur une partie du terril. Maintenant, la zone entière n’abrite plus aucune activité.

D'une superficie de plus de 33 hectares, le terril s'étend sur une longueur de plus d'un kilomètre. Son point culminant s’élève à 60 m (121 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer) et offre une vue panoramique sur la région.
Le Terril Saint-Antoine est un lieu de randonnée idéal, où la nature tente clairement de reprendre sa place. Cette zone comprend de vastes espaces dénudés, des prairies ouvertes, des jachères, des plans d'eau, des roselières et diverses forêts pionnières. L’endroit est surtout important pour sa faune, avec la présence de plusieurs espèces d'amphibiens et d'une gamme d'insectes inhabituels.
 
Outre les démonstrations et les essais des différentes machines, les DEMO DAYS contribueront également à la réalisation de travaux en faveur de l'environnement. En collaboration avec le Département de la Nature et des Forêts, l'organisation des DEMO DAYS a fait un tour complet, ces dernières semaines, pour identifier les différents endroits où nous pouvons aider à protéger la réserve naturelle.
 
Concrètement, cela signifie que les machines de nos exposants élimineront les espèces végétales envahissantes qui menacent la biodiversité, créeront de nouveaux petits plans d'eau, prépareront le terrain pour une nouvelle faune et flore, etc. .
La deuxième édition des Demo Days est en vue. Les 3 et 4 septembre, vous pourrez découvrir plus de 100 machines en fonctionnement sur le Terril Saint-Antoine à Boussu.

Le 21 avril, nous avons présenté le nouveau site impressionnant des Demo Days aux exposants déjà inscrits ou potentiellement intéressés ainsi qu’à la presse. Nous étions 85 à parcourir le terrain pour en découvrir les différentes utilisations.

Le terrain est nettement plus grand qu'en 2018. Cet espace supplémentaire nous permettra d’exploiter au maximum les possibilités de démonstration des machines et des camions.

The Terril Saint-Antoine is an ideal place for hiking, where nature is clearly trying to take back its place. This area includes vast barren areas, open grasslands, fallows, water bodies, reedbeds and various pioneer forests. The place is especially important for its fauna, with the presence of several species of amphibians and a range of unusual insects.
 
In addition to the demonstrations and tests of the various machines, the DEMO DAYS will also contribute to carrying out work in favor of the environment. In collaboration with the Department of Nature and Forests, the DEMO DAYS organization has gone all out in recent weeks to identify the different places where we can help protect the nature reserve.
 
Concretely, this means that our exhibitors' machines will eliminate invasive plant species that threaten biodiversity, create new small bodies of water, prepare the ground for new fauna and flora, etc. .
The second edition of the Demo Days is in sight. On September 3 and 4, you can discover more than 100 machines in operation on the Terril Saint-Antoine in Boussu.

On April 21, we presented the impressive new Demo Days site to exhibitors already registered or potentially interested as well as to the press. There were 85 of us walking around the site to discover the different uses.

The terrain is significantly larger than in 2018. This additional space will allow us to make the most of the demonstration possibilities of the machines and trucks.

 De Terril de Saint-Antoine is een terril gelegen in de gemeenten Boussu en Dour in de provincie Henegouwen.

Het terrein bestaat uit rots (leisteen) die tot grote diepte is uitgegraven. De laatste mijnbouwactiviteiten dateren uit de jaren 60, wat betekent dat we op zeer stabiele grond werken. Tot 2012 werden op een deel van de terril nog grote hoeveelheden schaliegesteente verwerkt. Nu herbergt het hele gebied geen activiteit meer.

Met een oppervlakte van meer dan 33 hectare strekt de terril zich uit over een lengte van meer dan een kilometer. Het hoogste punt is 60 m (121 m boven zeeniveau) en biedt een panoramisch uitzicht over de regio.
De Terril Saint-Antoine is een ideale plek om te wandelen, waar de natuur duidelijk probeert zijn plaats terug in te nemen. Dit gebied omvat uitgestrekte kale gebieden, open graslanden, braakliggende terreinen, waterlichamen, rietvelden en verschillende pionierbossen. De plaats is vooral belangrijk vanwege de fauna, met de aanwezigheid van verschillende soorten amfibieën en een reeks ongewone insecten.
 
Naast de demonstraties en tests van de verschillende machines, zullen de DEMO DAGEN ook bijdragen aan het uitvoeren van werkzaamheden ten gunste van het milieu. In samenwerking met het Departement Natuur en Bos heeft de organisatie DEMO DAYS de afgelopen weken alles uit de kast gehaald om de verschillende plekken in kaart te brengen waar we het natuurgebied kunnen helpen beschermen.
 
Concreet betekent dit dat de machines van onze exposanten invasieve plantensoorten die de biodiversiteit bedreigen, zullen elimineren, nieuwe kleine watermassa's zullen creëren, de grond zullen voorbereiden op nieuwe fauna en flora, enz. .
