Pendant quatre jours, Libramont a une nouvelle fois confirmé son statut de capitale européenne du monde agricole. Cette 90e édition de la Foire agricole et forestière, qui coïncidait avec le 100e anniversaire de Libramont Coopéralia, célèbre cette année un siècle d'existence de la plus grande foire agricole, forestière et agroalimentaire durable d'Europe. Un rendez-vous d'exception qui s'est achevé sur une note particulièrement positive, offrant le visage d'un événement parfaitement maîtrisé où agriculture, forêt, génie civil, transport et innovation ont partagé la même scène d'excellence.

L'ouverture de cette édition anniversaire avait été marquée par une visite hautement symbolique : le Roi Philippe et la Reine Mathilde avaient choisi de découvrir les coulisses de la plus grande foire agricole en plein air d'Europe, saluant le travail des équipes avant l'arrivée des milliers de visiteurs.

Lundi, c'est le Premier ministre Bart De Wever qui foulait pour la première fois les allées de Libramont. Celui qui se décrit volontiers comme un « véritable enfant de la ville » est venu à la rencontre d'un secteur confronté à de multiples défis, échangeant avec les acteurs des filières agricole et agroalimentaire. À ses côtés, le commissaire européen à l'Agriculture, Christophe Hansen, effectuait sa deuxième visite en moins de deux ans de mandat, confirmant l'importance stratégique de Libramont dans le paysage agricole européen.

Sous un ciel finalement clément, la manifestation s'est déroulée sans le moindre incident majeur. Les averses tombées dimanche soir sur l'Ardenne ont même été accueillies avec soulagement par les agriculteurs, après plusieurs semaines de sécheresse, apportant une conclusion presque symbolique à cette édition placée sous le signe de la résilience.

Côté fréquentation, Olivier Van Cauwelaert, directeur général de Libramont Coopéralia, évoque une affluence comparable aux précédentes éditions. Si la méthode de comptage des visiteurs a évolué, les allées sont restées animées tout au long du salon, témoignant de l'attractivité intacte de ce rendez-vous incontournable où les espaces dédiés au génie civil, aux camions et aux équipements professionnels ont, eux aussi, attiré un public particulièrement nombreux.

Comme le veut la tradition des années paires, la Foire s'est prolongée les mardi et mercredi avec les célèbres démonstrations forestières de Bertrix. Organisé sous une surveillance renforcée en raison des risques d'incendie liés aux conditions météorologiques, cet événement spectaculaire a une nouvelle fois réuni plusieurs dizaines de milliers de visiteurs venus admirer les dernières innovations en matière d'exploitation forestière et les démonstrations de machines de haute performance.

En célébrant un siècle d'histoire, Libramont ne regarde pas seulement son passé : la foire confirme plus que jamais son rôle de vitrine européenne de l'agriculture, de la forêt, du génie civil, du transport et des technologies durables. Libramont Fair 2026: A Historic 90th Edition Celebrating 100 Years of Europe's Largest Sustainable Agricultural, Forestry, and Agri-Food Fair

For four days, Libramont once again confirmed its status as the European capital of agriculture. This 90th edition of the Agricultural and Forestry Fair, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Libramont Coopéralia, celebrated a century of existence for Europe's largest sustainable agricultural, forestry, and agri-food fair. This exceptional event concluded on a particularly positive note, showcasing a perfectly executed event where agriculture, forestry, civil engineering, transport, and innovation shared the same stage of excellence.

The opening of this anniversary edition was marked by a highly symbolic visit: King Philippe and Queen Mathilde chose to discover the inner workings of Europe's largest open-air agricultural fair, commending the work of the teams before the arrival of thousands of visitors.

On Monday, Prime Minister Bart De Wever walked the aisles of Libramont for the first time. The self-described "true son of the city" came to meet with representatives of a sector facing numerous challenges, engaging with stakeholders in the agricultural and agri-food industries. Alongside him, the European Commissioner for Agriculture, Christophe Hansen, was making his second visit in less than two years of his term, confirming Libramont's strategic importance in the European agricultural landscape.

Under finally favorable skies, the event unfolded without any major incidents. The showers that fell on the Ardennes on Sunday evening were even welcomed with relief by farmers, after several weeks of drought, providing an almost symbolic conclusion to this edition, which focused on resilience.

Regarding attendance, Olivier Van Cauwelaert, Managing Director of Libramont Coopéralia, reported numbers comparable to previous years. While the visitor counting method has changed, the aisles remained bustling throughout the event, demonstrating the enduring appeal of this essential gathering. The areas dedicated to civil engineering, trucks, and professional equipment also drew particularly large crowds.

As is tradition in even-numbered years, the Fair continued on Tuesday and Wednesday with the renowned Bertrix Forestry Demonstrations. Organized under heightened security due to the fire risk associated with the weather conditions, this spectacular event once again brought together tens of thousands of visitors eager to admire the latest innovations in forestry and demonstrations of high-performance machinery.

In celebrating a century of history, Libramont is not simply looking back on its past: the fair reaffirms, more than ever, its role as a European showcase for agriculture, forestry, civil engineering, transportation, and sustainable technologies. An anniversary edition that brilliantly illustrated this unique event's ability to combine heritage, innovation, and a vision for the future, while remaining the undisputed benchmark for the sector in Europe.

Vier dagen lang bevestigde Libramont opnieuw haar status als de Europese hoofdstad van de landbouw. ​​Deze 90e editie van de Landbouw- en Bosbouwbeurs, die samenviel met het 100-jarig bestaan ​​van Libramont Coopéralia, vierde een eeuw van het bestaan ​​van Europa's grootste beurs voor duurzame landbouw, bosbouw en agrovoedingsproducten.
