Les origines d’une révolution

Dans les années 1970, Dachser a bouleversé le monde du transport avec une invention simple mais visionnaire : le caisson interchangeable. Inspiré par les conteneurs de l’armée américaine observés dans les ports allemands, Thomas Simon – gendre du fondateur Thomas Dachser – imagine une solution capable de transformer le transport routier.
En 1971, le premier caisson interchangeable voit le jour. Grâce à ses dimensions standardisées et à ses pieds repliables, il peut être déposé, échangé et repris par un autre véhicule en un temps record. Les temps d’attente diminuent, les flux s’accélèrent, et l’efficacité du secteur s’en trouve métamorphosée. Cette innovation, aujourd’hui incontournable, demeure une pierre angulaire de la logistique moderne.

Le PrecisionMover : un jalon pour l’industrie

Vingt ans plus tard, en 1995, TII KAMAG marque à son tour un tournant décisif avec le lancement du KAMAG PrecisionMover – autrefois connu sous le nom de Wiesel. Ce véhicule robuste et agile, conçu pour le transport de caisses mobiles, s’impose rapidement comme un allié essentiel pour les opérations de cour.

À Hambourg et Erlensee, le KAMAG ePrecisionMover, version 100 % électrique du célèbre transporteur, est déjà à l’œuvre. Silencieux, sans émissions, il améliore à la fois le bilan environnemental et les conditions de travail sur site. « Avec le ePrecisionMover, nous franchissons une étape décisive vers une logistique durable », souligne André Bilz.

Cette volonté d’innover se manifeste également à travers le projet de recherche SAFE20, lancé en 2020 et couronné de succès en 2024. Objectif : concevoir un concept de sécurité pour l’exploitation de véhicules autonomes dans les cours logistiques. Grâce à la coopération étroite entre TII KAMAG et Dachser, des essais ont permis au PrecisionMover de circuler en autonomie totale et en toute sécurité à une vitesse allant jusqu’à 20 km/h.

TII KAMAG and Dachser celebrate a shared history, born from a common vision: to make logistics smoother, more efficient, and more sustainable. At the heart of this success is the KAMAG PrecisionMover, a swap body transporter that has become a symbol of efficiency in yard operations.

The Origins of a Revolution

In the 1970s, Dachser revolutionized the world of transport with a simple yet visionary invention: the swap body. Inspired by the American army containers observed in German ports, Thomas Simon – son-in-law of the founder Thomas Dachser – envisioned a solution capable of transforming road transport.
In 1971, the first swap body was created. Thanks to its standardized dimensions and foldable legs, it could be dropped off, exchanged, and picked up by another vehicle in record time. Waiting times decreased, flows accelerated, and the efficiency of the sector was completely transformed. This innovation, now indispensable, remains a cornerstone of modern logistics.

The PrecisionMover: A Milestone for the Industry

Twenty years later, in 1995, TII KAMAG in turn marked a decisive turning point with the launch of the KAMAG PrecisionMover – formerly known as the Wiesel. This robust and agile vehicle, designed for the transport of swap bodies, quickly established itself as an essential ally for yard operations.
Dachser adopted this solution very early on, recognizing in the PrecisionMover the same philosophy of innovation and performance that had guided it from the beginning. "As pioneers of the swap body system, we know how crucial intelligent transport solutions are," explains André Bilz, Category Manager Truck, Trailer & Swap Body at Dachser. “The KAMAG PrecisionMover perfectly embodies this balance between efficiency and sustainability.”

Innovation in the Service of Sustainability

The shared history of TII KAMAG and Dachser didn't end there. Together, they continued their pursuit of progress by integrating the latest technologies.
In Hamburg and Erlensee, the KAMAG ePrecisionMover, the 100% electric version of the renowned transporter, is already in operation. Silent and emission-free, it improves both the environmental footprint and working conditions on site. "With the ePrecisionMover, we are taking a decisive step towards sustainable logistics," emphasizes André Bilz.

This commitment to innovation is also evident in the SAFE20 research project, launched in 2020 and successfully completed in 2024. The objective: to design a safety concept for the operation of autonomous vehicles in logistics yards. Thanks to the close cooperation between TII KAMAG and Dachser, tests have enabled the PrecisionMover to operate fully autonomously and safely at speeds of up to 20 km/h.

TII KAMAG en Dachser: een toekomstgerichte alliantie

Dertig jaar samenwerking, dertig jaar innovatie. TII KAMAG en Dachser vieren een gedeelde geschiedenis, geboren uit een gemeenschappelijke visie: de logistiek soepeler, efficiënter en duurzamer maken. De kern van dit succes is de KAMAG PrecisionMover, een wissellaadbaktransporter die symbool is geworden voor efficiëntie in de logistiek.

De oorsprong van een revolutie

In de jaren 70 bracht Dachser een revolutie teweeg in de transportwereld met een eenvoudige maar visionaire uitvinding: de wissellaadbak.
