Le GAM espagnol a obtenu un prêt de 35 millions d'euros de la Banque européenne d'investissement (BEI) pour investir dans des équipements électriques, des initiatives de développement durable et de formation numérique.
GAM utilisera le financement de la BEI pour remplacer sa flotte existante - le cas échéant - par des alternatives à faible émission de carbone.
La BEI a déclaré que GAM utilisera le financement pour augmenter ses investissements dans des équipements économes en énergie et des véhicules électriques afin de remplacer les unités existantes à forte empreinte carbone.
Il étendra également la flotte zéro émission de sa filiale Inquieto, qui possède 1500 véhicules électriques en Espagne et au Portugal, utilisés pour les livraisons du «dernier kilomètre» dans les centres urbains.
L'investissement dans Inquieto fait suite à l'annonce de GAM en août selon laquelle la société financière De Lage Landen (DLL) avait pris une participation de 20% dans l'entreprise Inquieto.
Une partie du financement servira également à numériser la formation professionnelle dispensée par Kirleo, l'opération de formation du GAM.
La BEI a déclaré que le financement pourrait créer 68 emplois à temps plein.
Le directeur financier de GAM, Antonio Trelles, a déclaré que le prêt diversifierait les sources de financement de l'entreprise "et nous aidera à accélérer nos plans pour minimiser les émissions de CO2 de GAM, l'une de nos priorités stratégiques.
« Nous apprécions grandement la confiance que la BEI accorde à notre entreprise, qui nous permettra de poursuivre notre stratégie de numérisation et, bien entendu, de renforcer notre engagement en faveur du développement durable et de la société.

Le vice-président de la BEI, Ricardo Mourinho Félix, a déclaré que le prêt contribuerait à la transition énergétique en favorisant le développement d'une économie circulaire décarbonée.
«Avec le soutien du Fonds européen pour les investissements stratégiques (EFSI), nos financements permettront de remplacer plus rapidement les équipements par des moteurs électriques et bas carbone.
"Cela stimulera non seulement la mobilité durable en Espagne, mais contribuera également à numériser le secteur et à créer des emplois."

Il s'agit du premier accord de financement entre la BEI et le GAM, et il est soutenu par le Fonds européen pour les investissements stratégiques (EFSI), le principal pilier du plan d'investissement pour l'Europe. Le fonds fournit des garanties qui permettent à la BEI d'investir dans des projets à haut risque.
Le plan d'investissement pour l'Europe a été remplacé par le nouveau programme InvestEU, bien qu'un certain nombre d'opérations précédemment approuvées puissent encore être signées.
Selon le site web InvestEU de l'UE, le programme est conçu pour soutenir l'investissement durable, l'innovation et la création d'emplois en Europe. Il vise à déclencher plus de 372 milliards d'euros d'investissements supplémentaires entre 2021 et 2027.

Spain’s GAM has secured a €35 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to invest in electric equipment, sustainability and digital training initiatives.

EIB said GAM will use the funding to increase its investments in energy-efficient equipment and electric vehicles to replace existing units with a high carbon footprint.
It will also expand the zero-emissions fleet of its subsidiary Inquieto, which owns 1500 electric vehicles in Spain and Portugal, used for ‘last mile’ deliveries in urban centres.
The investment in Inquieto follows GAM’s announcement in August that finance company De Lage Landen (DLL) had taken a 20% stake in the Inquieto business.
Part of the funding will also be used to digitalise vocational training provided through Kirleo, GAM’s training operation.
EIB said the funding could create 68 full-time jobs.
GAM Chief Financial Officer Antonio Trelles said the loan would diversify the company’s sources of funding “and will help us expedite our plans to minimise GAM’s CO2 emissions, one of our strategic priorities.
“We greatly appreciate the EIB’s faith in our company, which will enable us to pursue our digitalisation strategy and, of course, enhance our commitment to sustainability and to society.”

EIB Vice-President Ricardo Mourinho Félix said the loan would contribute to the energy transition by promoting the development of a decarbonised circular economy.
“With the support of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), our financing will help to replace equipment with electric and low-carbon motors more quickly.
“This will not only drive sustainable mobility in Spain, but will also help to digitalise the sector and create jobs.”

This is the first financing agreement between the EIB and GAM, and is supported by the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), the main pillar of the Investment Plan for Europe. The fund provides guarantees that allow the EIB to invest in higher risk projects.
The Investment Plan for Europe has been replaced by the new InvestEU programme, although a number of previously approved operations can still be signed.
According to the EU’s InvestEU website, the programme is designed to support sustainable investment, innovation and job creation in Europe. It aims to trigger more than €372 billion in additional investment between 2021 and 2027.

Het Spaanse GAM heeft een lening van 35 miljoen euro gekregen van de Europese Investeringsbank (EIB) om te investeren in elektrische apparatuur, duurzaamheid en digitale trainingsinitiatieven.
GAM zal EIB-financiering gebruiken om zijn bestaande vloot - waar van toepassing - te vervangen door koolstofarme alternatieven.
EIB zei dat GAM de financiering zal gebruiken om zijn investeringen in energiezuinige apparatuur en elektrische voertuigen te vergroten ter vervanging van bestaande eenheden met een hoge ecologische voetafdruk.
Het zal ook de emissievrije vloot van zijn dochteronderneming Inquieto uitbreiden, die 1500 elektrische voertuigen bezit in Spanje en Portugal, die worden gebruikt voor 'last mile'-leveringen in stedelijke centra.
De investering in Inquieto volgt op de aankondiging van GAM in augustus dat financieringsmaatschappij De Lage Landen (DLL) een belang van 20% had genomen in de Inquieto-activiteiten.

Dit is de eerste financieringsovereenkomst tussen de EIB en GAM en wordt ondersteund door het Europees Fonds voor strategische investeringen (EFSI), de belangrijkste pijler van het Investeringsplan voor Europa. Het fonds biedt garanties die de EIB in staat stellen te investeren in projecten met een hoger risico.
Het Investeringsplan voor Europa is vervangen door het nieuwe InvestEU-programma, hoewel een aantal eerder goedgekeurde operaties nog kan worden ondertekend.
Volgens de InvestEU-website van de EU is het programma bedoeld om duurzame investeringen, innovatie en het scheppen van banen in Europa te ondersteunen. Het doel is om tussen 2021 en 2027 meer dan € 372 miljard aan extra investeringen te genereren.
