Hilti s'engage à réduire ses émissions de carbone

Le groupe Hilti, spécialiste des outils basé au Liechtenstein, s'est engagé à réduire les émissions de carbone en dehors de ses propres opérations en rejoignant l'initiative Science Based Targets (SBTi).
La société affirme que la décision est conforme aux objectifs fixés dans l'Accord de Paris et qu'elle s'efforcera de réduire les émissions de carbone sur l'ensemble de sa chaîne de valeur et de soutenir ses clients dans un avenir net zéro.
Fondée en 2015, SBTi est une collaboration mondiale entre le Carbon Disclosure Project, le Pacte mondial des Nations Unies, le World Resources Institute et le Fonds mondial pour la nature. Il vise à fixer des objectifs aux entreprises pour réduire leurs émissions.
Hilti annonce qu'il investira un "montant à trois chiffres d'un million de francs suisses" afin de mettre en œuvre "des changements systématiques dans ses propres processus commerciaux et d'encourager davantage le développement de ses partenaires".
Suite à cette annonce, Hilti développera et soumettra ses cibles pour validation STBi dans les 24 mois.
Jahangir Doongaji, PDG du groupe Hilti, a déclaré : « Au-delà de notre ambition de devenir neutre en CO2 d'ici 2023, nous nous attaquons également aux émissions en dehors de nos propres opérations sur notre chemin vers le zéro net.
« Grâce à notre engagement envers des objectifs scientifiques, nous réduirons les émissions tout au long de la chaîne de valeur. Cela soutient les initiatives de développement durable de nos clients et nous permet de contribuer à la transformation indispensable de notre industrie.

Liechtenstein-based tool specialist Hilti Group has committed to reducing carbon emissions outside of its own operations by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The company says the decision is in line with the goals set in the Paris Agreement and that it will work to reduce carbon emissions across its entire value chain and support its customers in a net-zero future.
Founded in 2015, SBTi is a global collaboration between the Carbon Disclosure Project, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute and the World Wide Fund for Nature. It aims to set targets for companies to reduce emissions.
Hilti says it will invest a “triple-digit million Swiss franc amount” in order to implement “systematic changes into its own business processes and to further encourage the development of its partners.”
Following the announcement, Hilti will develop and submit its targets for STBi validation within 24 months.

Hilti verbindt zich ertoe de CO2-uitstoot te verminderen

De in Liechtenstein gevestigde gereedschapsspecialist Hilti Group heeft zich ertoe verbonden de koolstofemissies buiten haar eigen activiteiten te verminderen door zich aan te sluiten bij het Science Based Targets-initiatief (SBTi).
Het bedrijf zegt dat de beslissing in overeenstemming is met de doelstellingen van het Akkoord van Parijs en dat het zal werken aan het verminderen van de koolstofemissies in de hele waardeketen en het ondersteunen van zijn klanten in een toekomst zonder netto.
SBTi, opgericht in 2015, is een wereldwijde samenwerking tussen het Carbon Disclosure Project, het Global Compact van de Verenigde Naties, het World Resources Institute en het World Wide Fund for Nature. Het doel is om doelstellingen vast te stellen voor bedrijven om de uitstoot te verminderen.
Hilti zegt dat het een "driecijferig bedrag van een miljoen Zwitserse frank" zal investeren om "systematische veranderingen in zijn eigen bedrijfsprocessen door te voeren en de ontwikkeling van zijn partners verder te stimuleren".
Na de aankondiging zal Hilti haar targets voor STBi-validatie binnen 24 maanden ontwikkelen en indienen.
