Au cœur de l'Allemagne, d’ici janvier 2026, naîtra le LANDCROS Development Center Europe GmbH, un pôle d’innovation entièrement dédié aux excavatrices électriques, aux technologies numériques et aux solutions intelligentes pour les chantiers de demain. Première entité à porter le nom LANDCROS depuis l’annonce de la transformation de la marque, ce centre symbolise une ambition claire : façonner l’avenir des machines de construction.

L’Europe, avec ses normes environnementales parmi les plus strictes au monde et son avance dans les technologies de construction durable, s’impose naturellement comme le terrain d’expérimentation idéal. Ici, la transition vers les engins zéro émission n’est plus une tendance : c’est une nécessité, un mouvement comparable à l’électrification rapide du secteur automobile. Dans cet écosystème mature, où innovations numériques et solutions d’efficacité côtoient déjà le quotidien des professionnels, Hitachi veut s’ancrer plus profondément.

LANDCROS Development Center Europe s’attachera au développement mondial de la prochaine génération d’excavatrices électriques et de solutions numériques en phase avec la feuille de route internationale d’Hitachi.

KTEG, de son côté, continuera à concevoir des applications sur mesure pour répondre aux besoins spécifiques des clients européens.

Ce nouveau centre ambitionne de devenir un véritable carrefour de talents, en attirant ingénieurs et experts issus aussi bien de la machinerie de construction que de l’industrie automobile. À terme, une centaine de développeurs pourraient y travailler, tissant des liens étroits avec les autres pôles R&D d’Hitachi au Japon et en Inde. Les collaborations seront multiples, ouvertes, nourries par l’expertise de partenaires européens spécialisés en mobilité, numérique et technologies industrielles.

En créant le LANDCROS Development Center Europe, Hitachi Construction Machinery ne se contente pas d’ajouter un maillon à sa chaîne d’innovation : l’entreprise affirme sa volonté de réinventer la machine de chantier, en l’imaginant plus silencieuse, plus propre, plus intelligente. In the heart of Germany, by January 2026, the LANDCROS Development Center Europe GmbH will be established, an innovation hub entirely dedicated to electric excavators, digital technologies, and intelligent solutions for the construction sites of tomorrow. The first entity to bear the LANDCROS name since the brand transformation was announced, this center symbolizes a clear ambition: to shape the future of construction machinery.

Europe, with its stringent environmental standards among the strictest in the world and its leadership in sustainable construction technologies, naturally stands out as the ideal testing ground. Here, the transition to zero-emission machines is no longer a trend: it is a necessity, a movement comparable to the rapid electrification of the automotive sector. In this mature ecosystem, where digital innovations and efficiency solutions are already part of the daily work of professionals, Hitachi aims to establish a deeper foothold.

“Thanks to this new center, we are strengthening our ties with European stakeholders and leveraging their unique expertise in sustainability and technology,” says Francesco Quaranta, President and CEO of HCME. “Together, we will develop the solutions that will guide global industry toward a cleaner, more connected future.”

This new momentum is accompanied by a strategic reorganization. Since 2018, the KTEG joint venture has demonstrated its expertise, notably by unveiling nine zero-emission machines at the Bauma trade fair. From now on, roles will be clearly defined:

LANDCROS Development Center Europe will focus on the global development of the next generation of electric excavators and digital solutions, aligned with Hitachi’s international roadmap.

KTEG, for its part, will continue to design customized applications to meet the specific needs of European customers.

This new center aims to become a true hub of talent, attracting engineers and experts from both the construction machinery and automotive industries. Ultimately, around a hundred developers could work there, forging close ties with Hitachi's other R&D centers in Japan and India. Collaborations will be numerous and open, fueled by the expertise of European partners specializing in mobility, digital technologies, and industrial technologies.

By creating the LANDCROS Development Center Europe, Hitachi Construction Machinery is not simply adding another link to its innovation chain: the company is affirming its commitment to reinventing construction machinery, envisioning it as quieter, cleaner, and smarter.
