 Le Premier ministre Boris a officiellement inauguré hier la toute nouvelle usine de JCB en Inde alors que l'entreprise renforce sa présence mondiale dans le secteur de la fabrication.

Avec 11 usines au Royaume-Uni employant plus de 7 500 personnes, JCB a commencé à produire en Inde en 1979 et est aujourd'hui le premier producteur d'équipements de construction du pays.

Aujourd'hui, M. Johnson a visité la dernière usine de JCB en Inde - une usine d'investissement de 100 millions de livres sterling dans le Gujarat qui fabriquera des pièces pour les chaînes de production mondiales. La nouvelle usine est située à Vadodara près de la ville portuaire de Surat sur la côte ouest de l'Inde.

Le président de JCB, Lord Bamford, qui a dirigé l'expansion de JCB en Inde à la fin des années 1970, y compris l'ouverture de sa première usine à Ballabgarh, près de Delhi, a rejoint le Premier ministre aujourd'hui lors de l'ouverture. Aujourd'hui, JCB possède six usines en Inde, notamment à Jaipur et Pune.

Le PDG et directeur général de JCB India, Deepak Shetty, a déclaré : « Cette nouvelle installation créera environ 1 200 emplois directs une fois achevée et des milliers d'autres dans la chaîne d'approvisionnement. Il sera également une référence dans l'industrie en matière de diversité des genres et de technologies modernes en découpe laser, soudage et usinage. Vadodara est un emplacement stratégique pour JCB India compte tenu de sa proximité avec les ports et de la disponibilité de matières premières et de talents qualifiés. Nous tenons à remercier le gouvernement du Gujarat pour son soutien phénoménal à ce projet.

L'Inde est le plus grand marché de JCB chaque année depuis 2007 et une machine de construction sur deux vendue en Inde aujourd'hui est fabriquée par JCB. La nouvelle installation, située sur un site de 47 acres, sera capable de traiter 85 000 tonnes d'acier par an.

La nouvelle usine sera une usine de fabrication mixte employant 50 % de femmes. JCB India a également mis en place un centre de compétences dans l'usine où de jeunes professionnels seront formés pour occuper divers postes dans la fabrication.

 PRIME Minister Boris yesterday officially opened JCB’s newest factory in India as the company strengthens is global manufacturing presence.

With 11 factories in the UK employing more than 7,500 people, JCB first began manufacturing in India in 1979 and is now the country's leading producer of construction equipment.

Today Mr Johnson visited JCB’s latest factory in India – a £100 million investment plant in Gujarat which will fabricate parts for global production lines. The new factory is located in Vadodara near the port city of Surat on the West Coast of India.

Joining the Prime Minister today at the opening was JCB Chairman Lord Bamford, who led JCB’s expansion in India in the late 1970s, including the opening of its first factory in Ballabgarh, near Delhi. Today JCB has six factories in India at locations including Jaipur and Pune.

Lord Bamford said: “In its first year of full production, JCB India manufactured just 39 machines and by next year will have made a total of half a million. This country is now a major engineering power and being here has transformed our business. It has been a fabulous success, with so much more potential for growth. Such progress has only been possible by continued investment and the opening of our new Gujarat facility is an important step in growing our business here and around the world.”

JCB India CEO and MD Deepak Shetty said: “This new facility will create around 1,200 direct jobs when complete and thousands more in the supply chain. It will also be a benchmark in the industry on gender diversity and modern technologies in laser cutting, welding and machining. Vadodara is a strategic location for JCB India given its proximity to ports and availability of raw materials and skilled talent. We would like to thank the Government of Gujarat for its phenomenal support with this project.”

India has been JCB’s biggest market every year since 2007 and one in two of every construction machine sold in India today is made by JCB. The new facility, which is on a 47-acre site, will be capable of processing 85,000 tons of steel annually.

The new plant will be a gender diverse manufacturing facility employing 50% women. JCB India has also set up a skills center at the plant where young professionals will be trained to work on various job roles in manufacturing.

 Premier Boris van PRIME heeft gisteren officieel de nieuwste fabriek van JCB in India geopend, aangezien het bedrijf zijn wereldwijde productieaanwezigheid versterkt.

Met 11 fabrieken in het VK met meer dan 7.500 mensen, begon JCB in 1979 met de productie in India en is nu de grootste producent van bouwmachines in het land.

Vandaag bezocht de heer Johnson de nieuwste fabriek van JCB in India - een investeringsfabriek van £ 100 miljoen in Gujarat die onderdelen zal fabriceren voor wereldwijde productielijnen. De nieuwe fabriek staat in Vadodara nabij de havenstad Surat aan de westkust van India.

De nieuwe fabriek wordt een productiefaciliteit met verschillende geslachten en 50% vrouwen. JCB India heeft ook een vaardigheidscentrum opgezet in de fabriek waar jonge professionals worden opgeleid om verschillende functies in de productie te vervullen.
