JCB a annoncé aujourd'hui la nomination d'un nouveau fournisseur mondial de logistique principal avec l'attribution d'un contrat de cinq ans de plusieurs millions de livres.
L'accord verra l'entreprise familiale danoise Maersk Logistics devenir le principal fournisseur logistique de JCB. Le contrat de gestion des opérations de la chaîne d'approvisionnement mondiale de l'entreprise débutera au début de 2023 et verra Maersk collaborer avec Unipart Logistics dans sa livraison.
Dans le cadre du nouvel accord, Maersk et Unipart Logistics joueront un rôle essentiel dans l'approvisionnement des 10 sites de production britanniques de JCB dans le Staffordshire, le Derbyshire et le Wrexham en pièces provenant du JCB World Logistics Centre, à Newcastle-under-Lyme. L'emploi au centre a plus que quadruplé depuis son ouverture en 2013 et le nouveau contrat garantit les emplois des 260 personnes qui y travaillent, ainsi que ceux de 160 personnes supplémentaires travaillant dans les usines JCB du Staffordshire.

JCB today announced the appointment of a new global lead logistics provider with the awarding of a multi-million pound five-year contract.
The agreement will see Denmark-based family company Maersk Logistics become the JCB’s lead logistics provider. The contract to manage the company’s global supply chain operations will commence in early 2023 and will see Maersk collaborate with Unipart Logistics in its delivery.
Under the new agreement, both Maersk and Unipart Logistics will play a critical role in keeping JCB’s 10 UK production facilities in Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Wrexham supplied with parts from the JCB World Logistics Centre, Newcastle-under-Lyme. Employment at the Centre has more than quadrupled since opening in 2013 and the new contract secures the jobs of the 260 people working there, as well as those of an additional 160 people working across JCB’s Staffordshire plants.
JCB Chief Operating Officer Mark Turner said: “JCB’s business is going through a period of unprecedented growth around the world and as we grow, keeping production lines supplied with parts and components on a just-in-time basis is imperative. The appointment of Maersk Logistics as JCB’s global lead logistics provider, along with Unipart Logistics, will bring about a transformation in our global supply chain operations and support our manufacturing growth plans.”

Maersk and Unipart will work closely with current lead logistics provider DHL during the handover period between now and next year.

JCB heeft vandaag de benoeming aangekondigd van een nieuwe wereldwijde logistieke dienstverlener met de toekenning van een vijfjarig contract van meerdere miljoenen ponden.
Door de overeenkomst wordt het in Denemarken gevestigde familiebedrijf Maersk Logistics de leidende logistieke dienstverlener van JCB. Het contract om de wereldwijde supply chain-activiteiten van het bedrijf te beheren, gaat begin 2023 van start en zorgt ervoor dat Maersk bij de levering zal samenwerken met Unipart Logistics.
Volgens de nieuwe overeenkomst zullen zowel Maersk als Unipart Logistics een cruciale rol spelen om JCB's 10 Britse productiefaciliteiten in Staffordshire, Derbyshire en Wrexham te voorzien van onderdelen vanuit het JCB World Logistics Centre, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
