Les travaux ont commencé dans une nouvelle usine JCB de 500 millions de dollars à San Antonio, au Texas, en Amérique du Nord, ce qui est considéré comme le plus gros investissement jamais réalisé dans l'histoire de l'entreprise.

Les travaux de l'usine de 720 000 pieds carrés (67 000 m²) sont en cours sur un site de 400 acres et créeront 1 500 nouveaux emplois sur cinq ans. Il s’agira de la deuxième plus grande usine de l’entreprise après le siège mondial du fabricant à Rocester, dans le Staffordshire, au Royaume-Uni.

L'usine fabriquera des chariots télescopiques Loadall et des équipements d'accès aérien, dont la production devrait démarrer en 2026. L'usine aura également la capacité de se développer dans la fabrication d'autres produits à l'avenir.

« Les fabricants d'équipements de construction vendent plus de 300 000 machines chaque année en Amérique du Nord, ce qui en fait le plus grand marché au monde », a déclaré Lord Bamford, président de JCB.

« JCB a augmenté régulièrement sa part de ce marché important au cours des dernières années et le moment est désormais venu d'investir dans notre capacité de fabrication en Amérique du Nord, où nous possédons déjà une usine. »

JCB y a ouvert sa première usine de fabrication en 2001 à Savannah, en Géorgie, qui emploie 1 000 personnes. La nouvelle usine fabriquera des machines pour des clients spécifiquement en Amérique du Nord.

Work has started on a new US$500 million JCB factory in San Antonio, Texas, North America, which is said to be the biggest-ever investment in the company’s history.

Work on the 720,000 sq. ft (67,000m²) factory is under way on a 400-acre site and will create 1,500 new jobs over five years. It will be the company’s second largest plant after the manufacturer’s World HQ in Rocester, Staffordshire, UK.

The factory will make Loadall telescopic handlers and aerial access equipment, with production scheduled to start in 2026. The factory will also have the capacity to expand into the manufacture of other products in the future.

The Loadall telescopic handler is JCB’s biggest selling product in North America

“Construction equipment manufacturers sell more than 300,000 machines every year in North America, making it the single largest market in the world,” said JCB Chairman, Lord Bamford.

“JCB has been growing its share of this important market steadily over the past few years and the time is now right to invest in our manufacturing capacity in North America, where we already have one factory.”

JCB opened its first manufacturing plant there in 2001 in Savannah, Georgia, which employs 1,000 people. The new facility will manufacture machines for customers specifically in North America.

Er is begonnen met de bouw van een nieuwe JCB-fabriek ter waarde van 500 miljoen dollar in San Antonio, Texas, Noord-Amerika, wat naar verluidt de grootste investering ooit in de geschiedenis van het bedrijf is.

Er wordt momenteel gewerkt aan de fabriek van 67.000 m² op een terrein van 400 hectare, die in vijf jaar tijd 1.500 nieuwe banen zal creëren. Het wordt de op een na grootste fabriek van het bedrijf, na het hoofdkantoor van de fabrikant in Rocester, Staffordshire, VK.

De fabriek zal Loadall-verreikers en hoogwerkerapparatuur maken, waarvan de productie in 2026 zal starten. De fabriek zal in de toekomst ook de capaciteit hebben om uit te breiden naar de productie van andere producten.
