Kalmar has secured a deal to supply six hybrid straddle carriers to Med Europe Terminal, with delivery expected in Q4 of 2024.

This order is part of Med Europe Terminal's fleet renewal program aimed at enhancing environmental performance at the Port of Marseille.

Med Europe Terminal aims to significantly improve its environmental footprint with Kalmar's hybrid technology.

Kalmar's hybrid straddle carriers are recognized for reducing fuel consumption by up to 40% compared to traditional diesel-powered machines.

The partnership between Kalmar and Med Europe Terminal is highlighted as a step towards more sustainable operations in the heavy machinery and port operations sectors.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed an agreement with Med Europe Terminal to supply six Kalmar hybrid straddle carriers. The large order was booked in Cargotec's Q1 2024 order intake. The machines are scheduled to be delivered during Q4 of 2024.

The terminal, which is located in the Port of Marseille on France’s south coast, already operates a fleet of Kalmar diesel-electric straddle carriers. The new hybrid straddle carriers are part of a fleet renewal programme aimed at improving the terminal’s environmental performance.
