Backes Transport und Schlackenaufbereitung GmbH, une entreprise basée à Dillingen dans la Sarre, utilise la pelle sur chenilles Liebherr R 980 SME pour le chargement de scories chaudes et froides. Pour relever les défis de ce type d’opération, la machine a été spécialement construite selon les exigences de nos clients.

Le chargement de scories chaudes est un travail difficile qui expose la machine à des températures constantes très élevées. La pelle sur chenilles R 980 SME produite par Liebherr pour l'entreprise sarroise Backes Transport und Schlackenaufbereitung GmbH a été spécialement conçue pour répondre à de telles exigences. Sa benne basculante peut traiter de gros volumes de scories. Pour les travaux de chargement de scories, la machine est équipée de dispositifs de sécurité spéciaux tels qu'un système anti-incendie. Les conduites et tuyaux exposés sont recouverts d’un écran thermique. Cette pelle sur chenilles dispose d'une large passerelle du côté de l'opérateur, accessible via une échelle escamotable. Ces deux caractéristiques garantissent un accès sécurisé à la cabine de conduite surélevée et au compartiment moteur de la machine.

La R 980 SME pour Backes a été développée par le Liebherr Application Center créé en 2020 sur le site Liebherr-France SAS de Colmar. Les exigences spécifiques et les demandes particulières des clients y sont analysées et cette analyse est utilisée pour construire des machines sur mesure. Les demandes des clients reçues via le réseau commercial sont systématiquement analysées par une équipe de spécialistes maîtrisant parfaitement nos produits et leurs domaines d'application potentiels. Cela leur permet de développer la meilleure solution pour les exigences du client. Cette équipe diversifiée et multidisciplinaire peut répondre aux demandes des clients assez rapidement pour permettre leur parfaite intégration dans les processus de production de Liebherr-France SAS. L'acier utilisé pour construire la pelle sur chenilles est fourni par Stahl-Holding-Saar GmbH & Co. KGaA à Dillingen. Liebherr-France SAS commande chaque année à cette entreprise environ 7 000 tonnes d'acier, ce qui représente environ 70 pour cent de nos besoins totaux.

Le spécialiste des scories Backes estime que les caractéristiques de la pelle sur chenilles R 980 SME faciliteront un travail efficace et augmenteront ainsi la productivité. Malgré son poids de plus de 100 tonnes, la machine se distingue par sa maniabilité, sa commande simple et intuitive et sa cabine de conduite confortable et ergonomique. De plus, notre client rapporte que la R 980 SME consomme cinq à six litres de carburant de moins que le modèle précédent, qui est également utilisé par l'entreprise sarroise pour le transport et la manutention des scories. L'entreprise charge les scories provenant de la production d'acier dans des camions à benne. Les camions-bennes emportent les scories pour les traiter, qui commencent après refroidissement. Pour ces opérations, Backes utilise actuellement deux pelles sur chenilles R 980 PME et deux pelles sur chenilles Liebherr R 984 C d'un modèle plus ancien.

This R 980 SME crawler excavator was specifically designed for use in our customer’s operations

 Fuel-efficient, super-comfortable, and very safe for the operator

Backes Transport und Schlackenaufbereitung GmbH, a firm based in Dillingen in the Saarland, uses the Liebherr R 980 SME crawler excavator for loading hot and cold slag. To meet the challenges of this kind of operation, the machine was specially built per our customer’s requirements.

Loading hot slag is challenging work exposing the machine to constant very high temperatures. The R 980 SME crawler excavator produced by Liebherr for the Saarland firm Backes Transport und Schlackenaufbereitung GmbH was specially designed to fulfil such demands. Its dump bucket can handle large volumes of slag. For slag loading work, the machine is equipped with special safety devices such as a fire-fighting system. Exposed lines and hoses are covered with heat shielding. This crawler excavator features a wide walkway on the operator’s side, which can be accessed via a retractable ladder. Both features ensure safe access to the elevated operator's cab and the machine's engine compartment.

The R 980 SME for Backes was developed by Liebherr Application Center which was set up in 2020 at the Liebherr-France SAS site in Colmar. Specific requirements and customers’ special requests are analysed there, and the analysis is used for building tailor-made machines. Customer requests received through the sales network are systematically analysed by a team of specialists with a thorough understanding of both our products and their potential areas of application. This allows them to develop the best solution for the customer’s requirements. This diverse, multidisciplinary team can respond to customer requests quickly enough to allow them to be perfectly integrated into Liebherr-France SAS production processes. The steel used to build the crawler excavator is supplied by Stahl-Holding-Saar GmbH & Co. KGaA in Dillingen. Liebherr-France SAS orders about 7,000 tonnes of steel from this firm annually, which comes to about 70 percent of our total requirement.

Slag specialist Backes anticipates that the R 980 SME crawler excavator’s characteristics will facilitate efficient working and thus increase productivity. Despite its 100 tonne-plus weight, the machine stands out for its manoeuvrability, simple and intuitive operation, and comfortable, ergonomically designed operator's cab. In addition, our customer reports that the R 980 SME consumes five to six litres less fuel than the previous model, which is also used by the Saarland firm for transport and slag-handling. The firm loads slag from steel production into dump trucks. The dump trucks take the slag away for processing, which starts after it has cooled. For these operations, Backes currently uses two R 980 SMEs, and two older-model Liebherr R 984 C crawler excavators.

De R 980 SME voor Backes is ontwikkeld door Liebherr Application Center dat in 2020 werd opgericht op de locatie van Liebherr-France SAS in Colmar. Specifieke eisen en speciale wensen van klanten worden daar geanalyseerd en de analyse wordt gebruikt voor het bouwen van machines op maat. Klantverzoeken die via het verkoopnetwerk binnenkomen, worden systematisch geanalyseerd door een team van specialisten met een grondige kennis van zowel onze producten als hun potentiële toepassingsgebieden. Hierdoor kunnen zij de beste oplossing voor de wensen van de klant ontwikkelen. Dit diverse, multidisciplinaire team kan snel genoeg reageren op verzoeken van klanten, zodat deze perfect kunnen worden geïntegreerd in de productieprocessen van Liebherr-France SAS. Het staal dat wordt gebruikt om de rupsgraafmachine te bouwen, wordt geleverd door Stahl-Holding-Saar GmbH & Co. KGaA in Dillingen. Liebherr-France SAS bestelt jaarlijks ongeveer 7.000 ton staal bij dit bedrijf, wat neerkomt op ongeveer 70 procent van onze totale behoefte.

Slagspecialist Backes verwacht dat de eigenschappen van de R 980 SME rupsgraafmachine efficiënt werken zullen vergemakkelijken en daarmee de productiviteit zullen verhogen. Ondanks zijn ruim 100 ton gewicht onderscheidt de machine zich door zijn wendbaarheid, eenvoudige en intuïtieve bediening en comfortabele, ergonomisch ontworpen bestuurderscabine. Bovendien meldt onze klant dat de R 980 SME vijf tot zes liter minder brandstof verbruikt dan het vorige model, dat ook door de firma uit Saarland wordt gebruikt voor transport en slakbehandeling. Het bedrijf laadt slakken uit de staalproductie in dumptrucks. De dumptrucks voeren de slak af voor verwerking, die begint nadat deze is afgekoeld. Voor deze werkzaamheden maakt Backes momenteel gebruik van twee R 980 MKB-machines en twee oudere Liebherr R 984 C-rupsgraafmachines.
