In the third quarter of 2026, Volvo Construction Equipment confirmed its strength with increased sales, orders, and services. Despite an uncertain economic environment and persistently high costs, the Swedish manufacturer improved its profitability and accelerated its strategic investments.
The group posted net sales of SEK 19.9 billion, up 5%. Machine deliveries increased by 8%, while order intake jumped by 16%. Service sales also grew by 5%, confirming the increasing importance of after-sales service in the manufacturer's strategy.
Another key indicator: adjusted operating profit reached SEK 3.214 billion, bringing the operating margin to 16.1%, compared to 14.4% a year earlier. Organic sales growth amounted to 12%.
Markets Driven by Infrastructure and Mining
The momentum remains positive in most regions of the world. In Europe, infrastructure investments are supporting demand, although Germany is still struggling to regain momentum. In North America, data centers, energy infrastructure, and industrial relocation are driving investment.
South America continues its expansion thanks to major construction projects and mining activities. In Asia, India and Southeast Asia are benefiting from infrastructure projects and industrial investments. China is also progressing, supported by equipment renewal and urban development projects. Australia and Africa are experiencing strong growth, driven by the mining and infrastructure sectors. The Middle East, however, remains behind.
Volvo Mining: A New Strategic Offensive
Volvo CE is also preparing for the future with the creation of Volvo Mining, a dedicated mining entity that will be operational on January 1, 2027, within Volvo CE. The goal is to bring together trucks, construction equipment, and autonomous solutions in an integrated offering for mining operators and their subcontractors.
In North America, the Shippensburg, Pennsylvania plant produced its first US-made hydraulic excavators and large wheel loaders following its expansion. This investment was designed to bring production closer to customers and enhance the group's industrial responsiveness.
For Melker Jernberg, President of Volvo CE, the priority remains clear: maintain strong performance, improve operational efficiency, and deliver greater value to customers, despite inflationary pressures and the cost of raw materials and energy.
With rising orders, improved margins, and an ambitious strategy in mining and local production, Volvo CE is approaching the end of 2026 with confidence. The manufacturer intends to transform this momentum into sustainable growth by combining machine performance, services, and technological solutions.

Volvo Mining: Een nieuw strategisch offensief
