Moderniser plutôt que remplacer : Manitowoc mise sur l’intelligence numérique pour donner une nouvelle jeunesse aux grues mobiles Grove. Le constructeur lance upFLEX, un limiteur de capacité nominale (RCL) destiné aux grues tout-terrain et routières fabriquées entre 2002 et 2023, jusqu’ici équipées des systèmes iFLEX.

Présenté au salon CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, ce dispositif permet aux exploitants de conserver leurs machines éprouvées tout en bénéficiant d’une gestion de charge modernisée. Son interface couleur de 7 pouces, ses commandes intuitives et l’harmonisation des écrans facilitent le travail des opérateurs.

L’installation a également été simplifiée grâce à une connexion directe aux systèmes électroniques de la grue via CAN-BUS et Ethernet, selon une approche plug-and-play conçue pour réduire la complexité de la mise à niveau.

Le potentiel est considérable : Manitowoc estime qu’environ 13 000 grues Grove pourraient bénéficier de cette évolution. Le système upFLEX remplace plusieurs générations de limiteurs iFLEX et est disponible dans le monde entier auprès du réseau de distributeurs Grove.

Avec cette solution, Manitowoc répond à un enjeu majeur des professionnels du levage : prolonger la durée de vie des équipements, moderniser leur technologie et préserver la valeur d’un parc de machines déjà opérationnel.

Modernize rather than replace: Manitowoc is leveraging digital intelligence to breathe new life into Grove mobile cranes. The manufacturer is launching upFLEX, a load limiter (RL) for all-terrain and road cranes manufactured between 2002 and 2023, previously equipped with iFLEX systems.

Presented at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, this device allows operators to keep their proven machines while benefiting from modernized load management. Its 7-inch color interface, intuitive controls, and screen harmonization make the operator's job easier.

Installation has also been simplified thanks to a direct connection to the crane's electronic systems via CAN-BUS and Ethernet, using a plug-and-play approach designed to reduce the complexity of the upgrade.

The potential is considerable: Manitowoc estimates that approximately 13,000 Grove cranes could benefit from this upgrade. The upFLEX system replaces several generations of iFLEX limiters and is available worldwide through the Grove dealer network.

With this solution, Manitowoc addresses a major challenge for lifting professionals: extending equipment lifespan, modernizing technology, and preserving the value of an already operational fleet.

De fabrikant introduceert upFLEX, een lastbegrenzer (RL) voor terrein- en wegkranen die tussen 2002 en 2023 zijn geproduceerd en voorheen waren uitgerust met iFLEX-systemen.

Dit apparaat, gepresenteerd op CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, stelt kraanmachinisten in staat hun vertrouwde machines te behouden en tegelijkertijd te profiteren van gemoderniseerd lastbeheer.
