Réunis à Maastricht à l’occasion du 20e congrès de l’European Rental Association (ERA), plus de 400 professionnels de la location ont assisté à la 19e édition des European Rental Awards, organisée conjointement par l’ERA et International Rental News (IRN). L’événement a également marqué le 20e anniversaire de l’association européenne de la location.
Parmi les temps forts de la cérémonie, le prix de la carrière (Lifetime Achievement Award) a été décerné à Vesa Koivula, ancien président de l’ERA et figure emblématique du groupe Cramo, salué pour son leadership fédérateur et sa contribution au développement du secteur. Le titre de Personnalité de l’année est revenu à Daniela Niederstätter, dirigeante de Niederstätter AG, reconnue pour son engagement en faveur de la diversité, de l’inclusion et du changement culturel dans l’industrie de la location.
Les grands gagnants de l’édition 2025
La société norvégienne Utleiecompagniet (UCO) a remporté le prix de la Grande société de location de l’année grâce à sa capacité à conjuguer croissance, rentabilité et satisfaction client dans un contexte de marché complexe.
Côté PME, le belge Euromat s’est distingué par sa réorientation stratégique vers des contrats de plus grande envergure et le développement de solutions spécialisées dans le traitement de surfaces.
Dans la catégorie Produit de l’année, l’allemand Instagrid a été récompensé pour ses unités d’alimentation portables ONE & GO, devenues en peu de temps une référence dans les flottes de location grâce à leur technologie énergétique innovante.
Le britannique Nixon Hire a remporté le prix de la meilleure solution digitale avec son Renewable Power Hub, une plateforme permettant aux utilisateurs de réduire leur consommation de carburant, leurs émissions et les temps d’arrêt de leurs équipements.
Sécurité et durabilité à l’honneur
Le prix de la meilleure initiative sécurité a été attribué à Ardent Hire pour son système Ardent Eye, conçu pour prévenir les accidents impliquant les engins mobiles sur chantier.
En matière de développement durable, le comité Sustainability de l’ERA a distingué Zeppelin Rental pour son projet de rénovation de l’hôtel de ville de Mönchengladbach, considéré comme un exemple concret de l’impact positif que peut avoir la location sur la transition durable du secteur de la construction.
Enfin, John Smeets, directeur Fleet Uptime chez Boels Rental, a reçu le prix du comité technique de l’ERA en reconnaissance de son engagement et de sa contribution aux travaux techniques de l’association depuis 2017.
Cette édition anniversaire a confirmé le dynamisme du secteur européen de la location, tout en mettant en lumière les innovations, les initiatives durables et les talents qui façonnent son avenir.

Gathered in Maastricht for the 20th Congress of the European Rental Association (ERA), more than 400 rental professionals attended the 19th edition of the European Rental Awards, jointly organized by the ERA and International Rental News (IRN). The event also marked the 20th anniversary of the European Rental Association.
Among the highlights of the ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Vesa Koivula, former President of the ERA and a leading figure at the Cramo Group, recognized for his unifying leadership and contribution to the sector’s development. The Personality of the Year award went to Daniela Niederstätter, CEO of Niederstätter AG, recognized for her commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural change within the rental industry.
The big winners of the 2025 edition
The Norwegian company Utleiecompagniet (UCO) won the Large Rental Company of the Year award thanks to its ability to combine growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction in a complex market environment.
In the SME category, the Belgian company Euromat distinguished itself through its strategic shift towards larger-scale contracts and the development of specialized surface treatment solutions.
In the Product of the Year category, the German company Instagrid was recognized for its ONE & GO portable power units, which have quickly become a benchmark in rental fleets thanks to their innovative energy technology.
The British company Nixon Hire won the award for best digital solution with its Renewable Power Hub, a platform that enables users to reduce their fuel consumption, emissions, and equipment downtime.
Safety and Sustainability in the Spotlight
The award for best safety initiative was given to Ardent Hire for its Ardent Eye system, designed to prevent accidents involving mobile equipment on construction sites.
In the area of sustainable development, the ERA Sustainability Committee recognized Zeppelin Rental for its renovation project of the Mönchengladbach Town Hall, considered a concrete example of the positive impact that rental can have on the sustainable transition of the construction sector.
Finally, John Smeets, Fleet Uptime Director at Boels Rental, received the ERA Technical Committee Award in recognition of his commitment and contribution to the association's technical work since 2017.
This anniversary edition confirmed the dynamism of the European rental sector, while highlighting the innovations, sustainable initiatives, and talent shaping its future.

Meer dan 400 professionals uit de verhuursector woonden in Maastricht de 19e editie van de European Rental Awards bij, een gezamenlijk initiatief van de ERA en International Rental News (IRN). Het evenement markeerde tevens het 20-jarig jubileum van de European Rental Association.
Een van de hoogtepunten van de ceremonie was de uitreiking van de Lifetime Achievement Award aan Vesa Koivula, voormalig voorzitter van de ERA en een vooraanstaand figuur binnen de Cramo Group, als erkenning voor zijn verbindende leiderschap en bijdrage aan de ontwikkeling van de sector. Op het gebied van duurzame ontwikkeling heeft de ERA Duurzaamheidscommissie Zeppelin Rental erkend voor hun renovatieproject van het stadhuis van Mönchengladbach. Dit project wordt beschouwd als een concreet voorbeeld van de positieve impact die verhuur kan hebben op de duurzame transitie van de bouwsector.
Tot slot ontving John Smeets, Fleet Uptime Director bij Boels Rental, de ERA Technische Commissieprijs als erkenning voor zijn inzet en bijdrage aan het technische werk van de vereniging sinds 2017.
