À Mendavia, en Navarre, la carrière Loar ne ralentit jamais vraiment. Les granulats passent du front d’extraction au lavage, puis au tri, avant de rejoindre les camions qui alimentent chantiers, centrales à béton et enrobés. Dans cette mécanique industrielle, chaque cycle compte — et chaque litre de carburant aussi.

Pour accompagner la hausse de production, Hormicasa Canteras, entreprise familiale aujourd’hui dirigée par la troisième génération, vient d’ajouter un second chargeur Develon DL420-7 à sa flotte.

Le choix n’est pas le fruit du hasard. Cinq ans plus tôt, l’entreprise avait adopté un DL420-5. Sa fiabilité et les performances du réseau Develon en Espagne ont convaincu Hormicasa de renouveler sa confiance.

Avec son godet de 4,5 m³, sa transmission automatique Powershift à cinq rapports et son système hydraulique haute capacité, le DL420-7 est taillé pour les cadences sévères des carrières. Develon annonce jusqu’à 7 % de productivité supplémentaire par rapport à la génération précédente.

Mais c’est sous le capot que se joue une autre bataille : celle du carburant.

Le moteur Scania DC13 Stage V, associé à la technologie Situation Awareness Technology 2, adapte en permanence les performances de la machine aux conditions de travail. Résultat observé chez Hormicasa : une consommation réduite de 1,5 à 2 litres par heure, soit environ 10 % d’économie.

Dans une carrière où les machines travaillent des journées entières, ce chiffre dépasse largement la simple statistique : il devient un avantage économique quotidien.

Et parce que la productivité dépend aussi de celui qui tient les commandes, Develon a entièrement repensé la cabine. In Mendavia, Navarre, the Loar quarry never truly slows down. Aggregates move from the extraction face to washing, then to sorting, before being loaded onto trucks that supply construction sites, concrete plants, and asphalt plants. In this industrial machine, every cycle counts—and so does every liter of fuel.

To support increased production, Hormicasa Canteras, a family business now run by the third generation, has just added a second Develon DL420-7 loader to its fleet.

The choice was not made by chance. Five years earlier, the company had adopted a DL420-5. Its reliability and the performance of the Develon network in Spain convinced Hormicasa to renew its commitment.

With its 4.5 m³ bucket, five-speed Powershift automatic transmission, and high-capacity hydraulic system, the DL420-7 is built for the demanding pace of quarry operations. Develon announces up to 7% more productivity compared to the previous generation.

But another battle is being fought under the hood: the battle for fuel.

The Scania DC13 Stage V engine, combined with Situation Awareness Technology 2, continuously adapts the machine's performance to the working conditions. The result observed at Hormicasa: reduced fuel consumption of 1.5 to 2 liters per hour, representing approximately 10% savings.
