Remise d'une importante flotte Caterpillar à la mine de Kiaka, au Burkina Faso

La flotte comprend 14 camions 785D de 145 t ; quatre excavatrices 6020 ; cinq bulldozers D9GC ; deux camions-citernes 777 ; deux niveleuses 16GC ; deux chargeuses 993 ; ainsi qu'une gamme complète d'équipements de soutien conçus pour améliorer l'efficacité et la fiabilité opérationnelles.

Dans son rapport de production du deuxième trimestre 2025, la société minière indique : « L'exploitation à ciel ouvert de Kiaka a progressé comme prévu, la production atteignant désormais les objectifs de mouvement de matériaux. Les stocks de minerai continuent de s'accumuler sur la plateforme ROM, avec 945 000 t à une teneur de 0,6 g/t, soit 19 200 onces, disponibles pour traitement à la fin du trimestre. » L'usine de traitement de Kiaka a enregistré de bons résultats lors de sa mise en service en juin 2025, avec un débit d'usine stable et des taux de récupération métallurgique supérieurs aux attentes. Le débit d'usine devrait augmenter au troisième trimestre 2025, lorsque le réseau électrique sera disponible. La publication trimestrielle des statistiques opérationnelles de l'usine de Kiaka débutera au troisième trimestre 2025. Les prévisions de production de Kiaka pour 2025 restent entre 100 000 et 150 000 onces.

Le 30 juin, West African Resources a annoncé que la première coulée d'or à Kiaka avait eu lieu le 26 juin, en avance sur le calendrier et en deçà du budget. Cela s'est produit seulement trois ans et demi après l'acquisition du projet auprès de B2 Gold Corp et de son partenaire GAMS-Mining F&I en novembre 2021.

En intégrant Kiaka, sa mine existante, Sanbrado, et son projet satellite Toega, également en pleine expansion, la société vise à produire plus de 500 000 onces d'or par an d'ici 2030, toutes au Burkina Faso.

The fleet includes 14 785D 145 t class trucks; four 6020 excavators; five D9GC bulldozers; two 777 water tanker trucks; two 16GC graders; two 993 loaders; plus a full range of support equipment designed to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

In its Q2 2025 production update, the miner states: “Open-pit mining at Kiaka has ramped up as planned, with production now achieving target material movements. Ore stockpiles continue to build on the ROM pad with 945,000 t at a grade of 0.6 g/t for 19,200 ounces available for processing at the end of the quarter.”

It added: “The Kiaka processing plant performed well during commissioning operations in June 2025, with stable mill throughput and metallurgical recoveries that exceeded expectations. Mill throughput is expected to ramp up during Q3 2025 when grid power becomes available. Quarterly reporting of mill operational statistics for Kiaka will commence in Q3 2025. Kiaka’s production guidance for 2025 remains at 100,000 to 150,000 ounces.”

On June 30, West African Resources announced the first gold pour at Kiaka had occurred on June 26th, ahead of schedule and under budget. This was just three and a half years after the acquisition of the project from B2 Gold Corp and partner GAMS-Mining F&I in November 2021.

Taking Kiaka ogether with its existing established mine, Sanbrado, and its satellite Toega project that is also ramping up, the company has a target of being a +500,000 ounces per annum gold producer by 2030 – all from Burkina Faso.

De vloot bestaat uit 14 785D-vrachtwagens van 145 ton; vier 6020-graafmachines; vijf D9GC-bulldozers; twee 777-watertankwagens; twee 16GC-graders; twee 993-laders; plus een complete reeks ondersteunende apparatuur, ontworpen om de operationele efficiëntie en betrouwbaarheid te verbeteren.

In de productie-update voor het tweede kwartaal van 2025 stelt de mijnbouwer: "De dagbouw in Kiaka is volgens plan opgevoerd en de productie bereikt nu de beoogde materiaalbewegingen. De ertsvoorraden op het ROM-platform blijven toenemen met 945.000 ton met een gehalte van 0,6 g/t, goed voor 19.200 ounces die aan het einde van het kwartaal beschikbaar zijn voor verwerking."

Het voegde eraan toe: "De verwerkingsfabriek in Kiaka presteerde goed tijdens de ingebruikname in juni 2025, met een stabiele doorvoer en metallurgische winningen die de verwachtingen overtroffen. De doorvoer zal naar verwachting toenemen in het derde kwartaal van 2025, zodra er netstroom beschikbaar is. De kwartaalrapportage van de operationele statistieken van de fabriek in Kiaka start in het derde kwartaal van 2025. De productieverwachting van Kiaka voor 2025 blijft 100.000 tot 150.000 ounces."

Op 30 juni kondigde West African Resources aan dat de eerste goudstorting in Kiaka op 26 juni had plaatsgevonden, eerder dan gepland en onder budget. Dit was slechts drieënhalf jaar na de overname van het project van B2 Gold Corp en partner GAMS-Mining F&I in november 2021.

Samen met Kiaka, de bestaande mijn Sanbrado en het satellietproject Toega, dat ook in volle gang is, streeft het bedrijf ernaar om in 2030 een goudproducent van +500.000 ounces per jaar te zijn – allemaal afkomstig uit Burkina Faso.
