C’est précisément l’ambition du Mobile Training & Technology Center (MTTC) lancé par Manitowoc lors du salon CONEXPO-CON/AGG à Las Vegas.

Plus qu’un simple outil pédagogique, ce centre itinérant redéfinit la manière dont l’industrie forme ses techniciens, en rapprochant l’apprentissage des réalités opérationnelles.

La formation quitte la salle… pour rejoindre le chantier

À peine dévoilé, le MTTC a pris la route direction l’Utah, où il a tenu sa première session chez MGX Equipment Services, à Salt Lake City. À bord : un groupe de techniciens issus des entreprises Cowin Equipment et Wagstaff Crane, venus suivre un programme d’initiation aux métiers de la maintenance des grues.

Encadrée par l’instructeur Brandon Pieffer, cette première formation — centrée sur les fondamentaux — marque le début d’un déploiement à grande échelle. Objectif : former plus vite, plus efficacement, et surtout, plus près des besoins du terrain.

Une réponse concrète à la pénurie de compétences

Dans un secteur confronté à une tension croissante sur les profils techniques, Manitowoc fait le pari de la proximité. Le MTTC permet de :

Derrière son apparente simplicité, le MTTC cache une infrastructure sophistiquée. Transporté sur une remorque de 53 pieds, il se déploie en quelques heures pour offrir un espace de 43 x 25 pieds entièrement équipé :

Après l’Utah, le centre mobile poursuivra sa tournée vers Denver, première étape d’un itinéraire appelé à couvrir l’ensemble de l’Amérique du Nord. Il vient compléter le centre de formation fixe de Shady Grove, en Pennsylvanie, renforçant ainsi une stratégie globale axée sur le développement des compétences.

This is precisely the ambition of the Mobile Training & Technology Center (MTTC) launched by Manitowoc at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show in Las Vegas.

More than just a training tool, this mobile center is redefining how the industry trains its technicians by bringing learning closer to operational realities.

Training Leaves the Classroom… and Goes to the Job Site

Barely unveiled, the MTTC hit the road for Utah, where it held its first session at MGX Equipment Services in Salt Lake City. On board: a group of technicians from Cowin Equipment and Wagstaff Crane, who came to participate in an introductory program to crane maintenance.

Led by instructor Brandon Pieffer, this initial training course—focused on the fundamentals—marks the beginning of a large-scale rollout. The goal: to train faster, more effectively, and above all, more closely to the needs of the field.

Soms neemt het de vorm aan van een mobiele trainingsruimte, ontworpen om kennis over te dragen waar die het meest nodig is: op de werklocatie. Dat is precies de ambitie van het Mobile Training & Technology Center (MTTC) dat Manitowoc lanceerde op de CONEXPO-CON/AGG-beurs in Las Vegas.
