Dans le décor majestueux des Alpes bernoises, le Niesen, surnommé la Pyramide des Alpes (2 362 m), accueille chaque année des milliers de visiteurs. Pour préparer la saison estivale, un défi de taille attendait les équipes : réhabiliter le sentier de 170 mètres reliant la station sommitale au Berghaus Niesen Kulm, essentiel à l’approvisionnement de l’hôtel-restaurant et emprunté quotidiennement par près de 1 000 visiteurs.

Un chantier simple en apparence, mais qui s’est transformé en véritable aventure logistique. À cette altitude, seuls le funiculaire historique du Niesen et l’hélicoptère permettent d’acheminer machines et matériaux. S’ajoutaient les contraintes d’un climat extrême, avec des températures basses et une fenêtre de travail réduite chaque jour.

Un transport spectaculaire
Pour relever le défi, l’entrepreneur a fait appel au Vögele MINI 500, le plus petit finisseur de la marque. Compact (2,6 m de long, 0,9 m de large, 1,4 t) mais d’une qualité de pose irréprochable, il était parfaitement adapté à ce chantier atypique. Le paver a été transporté par le funiculaire, dont les pentes atteignent parfois 68 %. « Transporter un finisseur sur un funiculaire historique, ce n’est pas notre quotidien. Le MINI 500 s’est avéré idéal pour ce projet », raconte Iwan Hachen, chef de chantier.

Un ballet aérien millimétré
Restait à alimenter la machine en enrobé chaud. Là encore, la solution fut spectaculaire : un hélicoptère assurait une rotation toutes les quatre minutes, déposant directement le matériau dans la trémie du MINI 500. L’asphalte provenait de camions chauffés stationnés 700 m plus bas, garantissant un approvisionnement continu malgré la distance.

Un résultat rapide et impeccable
Équipé de sa table AB 135 extensible et de rallonges boulonnées, le MINI 500 a pu poser une couche de 4 cm d’épaisseur, sur une largeur de 1,8 m – parfois en plusieurs passes pour s’adapter au tracé. Grâce à une organisation sans faille et à la régularité des rotations aériennes, l’ensemble des travaux, y compris les accotements, a été bouclé en seulement deux jours.

Au sommet de la Pyramide des Alpes, cette opération de haute précision démontre une fois de plus la capacité du Vögele MINI 500 à relever des défis où logistique, conditions extrêmes et exigence de qualité se rencontrent.

Rehabilitation of a trail at 2,300 m altitude – an extraordinary project on the Niesen

In the majestic setting of the Bernese Alps, the Niesen, nicknamed the Pyramid of the Alps (2,362 m), welcomes thousands of visitors every year. In preparation for the summer season, a major challenge awaited the teams: rehabilitating the 170-meter trail connecting the summit station to the Berghaus Niesen Kulm, essential for supplying the hotel-restaurant and used daily by nearly 1,000 visitors.

A seemingly simple project, it turned into a true logistical adventure. At this altitude, only the historic Niesen funicular and helicopters are available to transport machinery and materials. Added to this were the constraints of an extreme climate, with low temperatures and a reduced working window each day.

Spectacular Transport
To meet the challenge, the contractor called upon the Vögele MINI 500, the brand's smallest paver. Compact (2.6 m long, 0.9 m wide, 1.4 t) but with impeccable paving quality, it was perfectly suited to this unusual project. The paver was transported by the funicular, whose gradients sometimes reach 68%. "Transporting a paver on a historic funicular is not our daily routine. The MINI 500 proved ideal for this project," says Iwan Hachen, site manager.

A Precision-Made Aerial Ballet
All that remained was to supply the machine with hot mix. Here again, the solution was spectacular: a helicopter rotated every four minutes, depositing the material directly into the MINI 500's hopper. The asphalt came from heated trucks parked 700 m below, ensuring a continuous supply despite the distance.

A fast and flawless result
Equipped with its extendable AB 135 screed and bolted extensions, the MINI 500 was able to lay a 4 cm thick layer, over a width of 1.8 m – sometimes in several passes to adapt to the route. Thanks to flawless organization and regular aerial rotations, the entire project, including the shoulders, was completed in just two days.

At the summit of the Alpine Pyramid, this high-precision operation once again demonstrates the Vögele MINI 500's ability to meet challenges where logistics, extreme conditions, and quality standards meet.

Renovatie van een parcours op 2300 m hoogte – een buitengewoon project op de Niesen

In het majestueuze decor van de Berner Alpen verwelkomt de Niesen, bijgenaamd de Piramide van de Alpen (2362 m), jaarlijks duizenden bezoekers. Ter voorbereiding op het zomerseizoen wachtte de teams een grote uitdaging: de renovatie van het 170 meter lange parcours dat het bergstation verbindt met Berghaus Niesen Kulm. Dit parcours is essentieel voor de bevoorrading van het hotel-restaurant en wordt dagelijks door bijna 1000 bezoekers gebruikt.

Een ogenschijnlijk eenvoudig project, maar uitgegroeid tot een waar logistiek avontuur. Op deze hoogte zijn alleen de historische Niesen-kabelbaan en helikopters beschikbaar voor het vervoer van machines en materialen. Daarbij komen nog de beperkingen van een extreem klimaat, met lage temperaturen en een beperkt aantal werkuren per dag.

Spectaculair transport
Om de uitdaging aan te gaan, deed de aannemer een beroep op de Vögele MINI 500, de kleinste asfalteermachine van het merk. Compact (2,6 m lang, 0,9 m breed, 1,4 ton) maar met een onberispelijke bestratingskwaliteit, was hij perfect geschikt voor dit ongewone project. De asfalteermachine werd vervoerd met de kabelbaan, waarvan de hellingen soms wel 68% bereiken. "Het vervoeren van een asfalteermachine met een historische kabelbaan is niet onze dagelijkse routine. De MINI 500 bleek ideaal voor dit project", aldus Iwan Hachen, bouwplaatsmanager.

Een nauwkeurig vervaardigd luchtballet
Het enige wat nog restte, was de machine te voorzien van warm mengsel. Ook hier was de oplossing spectaculair: een helikopter draaide elke vier minuten rond en stortte het materiaal rechtstreeks in de trechter van de MINI 500. Het asfalt kwam van verwarmde vrachtwagens die 700 m lager geparkeerd stonden, waardoor een continue aanvoer ondanks de afstand gegarandeerd was.

Een snel en perfect resultaat
Uitgerust met zijn uitschuifbare AB 135-balk en geschroefde verlengstukken kon de MINI 500 een 4 cm dikke laag aanbrengen over een breedte van 1,8 m – soms in meerdere werkgangen om zich aan te passen aan de route. Dankzij een vlekkeloze organisatie en regelmatige luchtrotaties werd het hele project, inclusief de bermen, in slechts twee dagen voltooid.

Op de top van de Alpenpiramide bewijst deze uiterst precieze operatie eens te meer dat de Vögele MINI 500 in staat is om uitdagingen aan te gaan waar logistiek, extreme omstandigheden en kwaliteitsnormen samenkomen.
