Le Terminal de Conteneurs du Yucatán (APM Terminals Yucatán) franchit une nouvelle étape majeure dans la modernisation de ses infrastructures portuaires en commandant deux grues mobiles portuaires Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7, spécialement configurées pour répondre aux contraintes locales et aux ambitions environnementales du terminal. La commande, enregistrée au quatrième trimestre 2025, prévoit une livraison au port de Progreso à la fin septembre 2026.

Véritable porte d’entrée maritime de la péninsule du Yucatán, le port de Progreso joue un rôle stratégique dans les échanges commerciaux reliant les industries textile et manufacturière de la région aux États-Unis. En tant que seul terminal à conteneurs dédié du port, APM Terminals Yucatán occupe une position centrale dans le commerce extérieur du sud du Mexique. L’acquisition de ces deux nouvelles grues s’inscrit dans un vaste programme de montée en capacité et de modernisation destiné à accompagner la croissance des flux et à renforcer la compétitivité du site.

Fort de son expérience avec des générations précédentes de grues Konecranes Gottwald, le terminal a naturellement renouvelé sa confiance dans la marque. « Notre terminal poursuit un programme d’investissement ambitieux à long terme, et ces deux grues en constituent des jalons essentiels. Nous connaissons la fiabilité et les performances des grues mobiles Konecranes Gottwald, ce qui en faisait un choix évident pour cette nouvelle phase de développement », explique Victor Peter Konen, Directeur général et COO d’APM Terminals Yucatán.

Chaque grue a fait l’objet d’une conception sur mesure, intégrant un châssis à 10 essieux, contre 7 en configuration standard, ainsi que des patins d’appui surdimensionnés (2 × 2,0 m × 5,4 m). Cette architecture spécifique permet de respecter les limites de charge du quai tout en garantissant des performances opérationnelles maximales. Par ailleurs, les grues sont équipées d’un enrouleur de câble haute tension de 150 mètres (13,2 kV), autorisant une exploitation entièrement électrique à partir d’une alimentation externe et assurant zéro émission à l’échappement.

« Ces grues personnalisées associent puissance, flexibilité et fonctionnement entièrement électrique, en parfaite adéquation avec la vision à long terme du terminal. The Yucatán Container Terminal (APM Terminals Yucatán) has taken another major step in modernizing its port infrastructure by ordering two Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 mobile port cranes, specially configured to meet local constraints and the terminal's environmental ambitions. The order, placed in the fourth quarter of 2025, is scheduled for delivery to the Port of Progreso at the end of September 2026.

As the maritime gateway to the Yucatán Peninsula, the Port of Progreso plays a strategic role in trade, connecting the region's textile and manufacturing industries to the United States. As the port's only dedicated container terminal, APM Terminals Yucatán occupies a central position in southern Mexico's foreign trade. The acquisition of these two new cranes is part of a comprehensive capacity-building and modernization program designed to support increased traffic and enhance the site's competitiveness.

Building on its experience with previous generations of Konecranes Gottwald cranes, the terminal naturally renewed its confidence in the brand. "Our terminal is pursuing an ambitious long-term investment program, and these two cranes represent key milestones. We know the reliability and performance of Konecranes Gottwald mobile cranes, which made them an obvious choice for this new phase of development," explains Victor Peter Konen, Managing Director and COO of APM Terminals Yucatán.

Each crane was custom-designed, incorporating a 10-axle chassis, compared to the standard 7-axle configuration, as well as oversized outrigger pads (2 × 2.0 m × 5.4 m). This specific design ensures compliance with the quay's load limits while guaranteeing maximum operational performance. Furthermore, the cranes are equipped with a 150-meter (13.2 kV) high-voltage cable reel, enabling fully electric operation from an external power supply and ensuring zero tailpipe emissions.

De containerterminal van Yucatán (APM Terminals Yucatán) heeft een belangrijke stap gezet in de modernisering van haar haveninfrastructuur met de bestelling van twee mobiele havenkranen van Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7. Deze kranen zijn speciaal geconfigureerd om te voldoen aan de lokale eisen en de milieudoelstellingen van de terminal. De bestelling, geplaatst in het vierde kwartaal van 2025, zal naar verwachting eind september 2026 in de haven van Progreso worden geleverd.

Als maritieme toegangspoort tot het schiereiland Yucatán speelt de haven van Progreso een strategische rol in de handel en verbindt zij de textiel- en maakindustrie van de regio met de Verenigde Staten. Als enige containerterminal van de haven neemt APM Terminals Yucatán een centrale positie in de buitenlandse handel van Zuid-Mexico in. Elke kraan is op maat ontworpen en voorzien van een chassis met 10 assen, in plaats van de standaardconfiguratie met 7 assen, en extra grote steunpoten (2 × 2,0 m × 5,4 m). Dit specifieke ontwerp zorgt ervoor dat aan de maximale belastingslimieten van de kade wordt voldaan en garandeert tegelijkertijd maximale operationele prestaties. Bovendien zijn de kranen uitgerust met een 150 meter lange (13,2 kV) hoogspanningskabelhaspel, waardoor volledig elektrische bediening mogelijk is via een externe stroomvoorziening en er geen uitlaatgassen worden uitgestoten.
