Et juste après cela, la grue à sept essieux s'est rendue directement sur son chantier suivant à Tübingen, où elle a passé sept semaines à montrer exactement pourquoi elle a rapidement acquis la réputation d'être une bête de somme absolue.
L'équipe de Scholpp a clairement pris goût à la machine et est convaincue que l'acquisition de plus de grues fabriquées par Tadano est le bon choix : en plus de l'AC 7.450-1 livrée, l'entreprise a également commandé quatre grues Tadano AC 4.080-1 et une Unité AC 3.045-1 City avec le E-Pack en option.
« Le système global derrière l'AC 4.080-1 était extrêmement convaincant : grâce à sa conception compacte, cette grue combine la maniabilité d'une grue de 70 tonnes avec la capacité de levage d'une grue de 90 tonnes. Et les avantages de l'imbattable AC 3.045-1 City dans les environnements intérieurs sont quelque chose qu'il serait difficile de rendre justice avec de simples mots », explique le directeur général Martin Scholpp, sans hésiter quant à la confiance qu'il accorde à la marque Tadano. C'est en partie pour cette raison qu'il a pris livraison de la nouvelle AC 7.450-1 en personne avec le directeur général et directeur régional de Stuttgart, Stephan Burkhardt, dans leur succursale de Leonberg, où la nouvelle grue a été remise par le PDG de Tadano, Jens Ennen, et le directeur des ventes, Michael Zieger. .
Stephan Burkhardt mentionne qu'il y a de bonnes raisons pour le changement de marque dans la flotte Scholpp, le changement ayant débuté avec la livraison de la grue à sept essieux Tadano : « L'AC 7.450-1 est tout simplement la grue la plus puissante de sa catégorie. même s'il est extrêmement compact. Et c'est ce dernier qui, à mon avis, est un avantage crucial lorsque l'on considère que les chantiers sont de plus en plus serrés, en particulier dans les zones urbaines », dit-il, clairement enthousiasmé par le « petit nouveau en ville » de Zweibrücken.
Il existe également d'autres domaines dans lesquels l'AC 7.450-1 brille lorsqu'il est utilisé par les experts en grues de Stuttgart, y compris sa flexibilité, par exemple. En fait, cela vaut également pour le processus de transformation qui a donné naissance à OneTadano, que Martin Scholpp et Stephan Burkhardt considèrent comme une évolution positive : « Cette réorganisation injecte une nouvelle vie dans le portefeuille de grues Tadano au bon moment - l'AC 7.450- 1 avec ses nombreuses innovations, telles que le système Surround View et le système Sideways Superlift considérablement amélioré, en est un parfait exemple. En fait, il n'est pas étonnant qu'il devienne un best-seller qui est également indispensable à notre travail », conviennent tous les deux.
Première mission : supprimer un pont
Compte tenu de tous les éloges et des attentes élevées, il va sans dire que l'équipe Scholpp a prêté une attention particulière au premier travail de l'AC 7.450-1. Et le nouveau modèle n'a pas déçu : équipé d'un contrepoids de 130 tonnes, ses puissantes caractéristiques de performance lui ont permis de soulever le « Daimlersteg » de 45 tonnes à la gare de Sindelfingen dans un rayon de 18,5 mètres la nuit, de le balancer sur le côté et posez-le sur le sol.
« Avec le recul, c'était un jeu d'enfant pour notre AC 7.450-1, mais c'était important dans la mesure où cela a créé un espace vital pour la nouvelle approche de mobilité qui y sera utilisée », rapporte le grutier Oliver Busch.
Projet de suivi spectaculaire à Tübingen
Un défi bien plus grand attendait la grue à sept essieux Tadano peu de temps après. Le deuxième projet de l'unité l'a vue se déplacer vers un autre chantier à Tübingen, où elle travaillerait à nouveau sur un projet de pont. Mais à une toute autre échelle. « Nous avons en fait dû effectuer un total de 60 levages de fondations pour la construction d'un nouveau pont cyclable », rapporte Frank Wolber, directeur des ventes pour les grandes grues à la succursale Scholpp à Leonberg.
Cela signifiait que l'équipe avait besoin d'une grue capable de répondre avant tout à deux exigences : une capacité de levage puissante et une conception compacte. Après tout, le travail requis pour soulever les fondations du pont de neuf tonnes à un rayon impressionnant de 60 mètres - et sur un chantier où l'espace était extrêmement restreint pour démarrer.
Se rendre au chantier lui-même n'a pas été un problème : il n'a fallu qu'une heure à l'AC 7.450-1 pour y arriver avec quatre camions de transport. Une fois sur place, l'équipe de cinq personnes de Scholpp a pu installer l'AC 7.450-1 en seulement quatre heures malgré les conditions d'espace restreintes. « La façon dont cette grue est conçue pour faciliter le montage était absolument vitale », souligne Frank Wolber.
Pour les remontées à venir, l'équipe a choisi une configuration SSL avec une longueur de flèche de 70 mètres, 150 tonnes de contrepoids et un mouflage en trois parties avec des stabilisateurs entièrement déployés. La nouvelle conception technique derrière le système Sideways Superlift s'est avérée être un avantage crucial pour le travail : les bras Superlift sont montés complètement à l'avant, sur la tête de la section de base, ce qui signifie qu'ils sont finalement plus longs et donc bien adaptés à des capacités de levage plus importantes.
Et en ce qui concerne les capacités de levage, cela signifie que l'AC 7.450-1 est considérablement supérieure aux autres grues à sept essieux. « Lever neuf tonnes dans un rayon de 60 mètres est vraiment un exploit pour une unité à sept essieux, et pourtant notre grue aurait pu en supporter encore plus », déclare Frank Wolber, clairement impressionné par les performances puissantes de l'AC 7.450-1 et la façon dont il s'est déroulé sans encombre sur le chantier pendant les sept semaines entières. Sa conclusion après la réussite du projet est tout aussi positive : « Le Tadano AC 7.450-1 a montré qu'il s'agissait d'un véritable bourreau de travail tout au long du projet de sept semaines, au cours duquel il a fonctionné en continu - ce qui correspondait à peu près à ce que nous attendions du départ. -go", résume-t-il joyeusement.

The team at Scholpp Kran- & Transport GmbH is not fond of procrastinating – that is why it should come as no surprise that it took only a few days before the company’s newly acquired Tadano AC 7.450-1 saw its debut: At the Sindelfingen train station in the district of Tübingen, it lifted out the “Daimlersteg” steel pedestrian bridge so that the latter could give way to a new approach to mobility at the busy area. And right after that, the seven-axle crane travelled directly to its next work site in Tübingen, where it spent seven weeks showing exactly why it has quickly developed a reputation for being an absolute workhorse.
The team at Scholpp clearly took a liking to the machine and is sure that acquiring more cranes made by Tadano is the right choice: In addition to the delivered AC 7.450-1, the company has also ordered four Tadano AC 4.080-1 cranes and an AC 3.045-1 City unit with the optional E-Pack.
“The overall system behind the AC 4.080-1 was tremendously compelling: Thanks to its compact design, this crane combines the manoeuvrability of a 70-tonne crane with the lifting capacity of a 90-tonne one. And the advantages of the unbeatable AC 3.045-1 City in indoor environments are something that it’d be hard to do justice to with mere words,” Managing Director Martin Scholpp explains, making no bones about how much he trusts the Tadano brand. This is part of why he took delivery of the new AC 7.450-1 in person together with General Manager and Stuttgart Regional Manager Stephan Burkhardt at their branch in Leonberg, where the new crane was handed over by Tadano CEO Jens Ennen and Sales Manager Michael Zieger.
Stephan Burkhardt mentions that there are good reasons for the switch in brands in the Scholpp fleet, with the change being kicked off with the delivery of the Tadano seven-axle crane: “The AC 7.450-1 is simply the most powerful crane of its class even though it’s extremely compact. And it’s the latter that I think is a crucial advantage when we consider that work sites are getting tighter and tighter, particularly in urban areas,” he says, clearly excited about the “new kid in town” from Zweibrücken.
There are also other areas in which the AC 7.450-1 shines when used by the crane experts from Stuttgart, including its flexibility, for example. In fact, this also goes for the transformation process that has given rise to OneTadano, which Martin Scholpp and Stephan Burkhardt consider a positive development: “This reorganization is injecting new life into the Tadano crane portfolio at just the right time – the AC 7.450-1 with its numerous innovations, such as the Surround View system and the significantly enhanced Sideways Superlift system, is a perfect example of this. In fact, it’s no wonder that it’s becoming a best-seller that is also indispensable to our work,” both agree.
First assignment: Removing a bridge
Given all the praise and lofty expectations, it goes without saying that the Scholpp team was paying very close attention to the AC 7.450-1’s first job. And the new model did not disappoint: Set up with 130 tonnes of counterweight, its powerful performance characteristics enabled it to lift out the 45-tonne “Daimlersteg” at the Sindelfingen train station at a radius of 18.5 meters at night-time, swing it to the side, and set it down on the ground.
“In hindsight, that was child’s play for our AC 7.450-1, but it was important in that it created vital space for the new mobility approach that will be used there,” reports crane operator Oliver Busch.
Spectacular follow-up project in Tübingen
A much bigger challenge awaited the Tadano seven-axle crane just a short time afterwards. The unit’s second project saw it travel to another work site in Tübingen, where it would once again be working on a bridge project. But on a whole different scale. “We actually had to carry out a total of 60 foundation lifts for the construction of a new bicycle bridge,” reports Frank Wolber, sales manager for large cranes at the Scholpp branch in Leonberg.
This meant that the team needed a crane that would be able to meet two requirements above all: powerful lifting capacity and a compact design. After all, the job required for the nine-tonne bridge foundations to be lifted at an impressive radius of 60 meters – and at a work site where space was extremely tight to boot.
Getting to the work site itself was not a problem: It took the AC 7.450-1 just one hour to get there together with four transport trucks. Once there, the five-person Scholpp team was able to set up the AC 7.450-1 in a mere four hours despite the tight space conditions. “The way this crane is designed to make assembly easy was absolutely vital there,” Frank Wolber highlights.
For the upcoming lifts, the team chose an SSL configuration with a 70-meter boom length, 150 tonnes of counterweight, and three-part reeving with fully extended outriggers. The novel engineering design behind the Sideways Superlift system proved to be a crucial advantage for the job: The Superlift arms are mounted all the way in the front, on the head of the base section, meaning that they are ultimately longer and accordingly well-suited to larger lifting capacities.
And while on the subject of lifting capacities, this means that the AC 7.450-1 is considerably superior to other seven-axle cranes. “Lifting nine tonnes at a radius of 60 meters is really quite the accomplishment for a seven-axle unit, and yet our crane could have handled even more,” Frank Wolber says, clearly impressed by the powerful performance of the AC 7.450-1 and the way it ran without a hitch at the work site for the whole seven weeks. His conclusion after the project was successfully completed is just as positive: “The Tadano AC 7.450-1 showed that it’s a true workhorse throughout the seven-week project, during which it was working continuously – which was pretty much what we expected from the get-go,” he happily summarizes.

Er zijn ook andere gebieden waarop de AC 7.450-1 schittert bij gebruik door de kraanexperts uit Stuttgart, bijvoorbeeld zijn flexibiliteit. Dat geldt trouwens ook voor het transformatieproces dat heeft geleid tot OneTadano, wat Martin Scholpp en Stephan Burkhardt als een positieve ontwikkeling beschouwen: “Deze reorganisatie blaast op het juiste moment nieuw leven in het kranenportfolio van Tadano – de AC 7.450- 1 met zijn talrijke innovaties, zoals het Surround View-systeem en het aanzienlijk verbeterde Sideways Superlift-systeem, is daar een perfect voorbeeld van. Eerste opdracht: Een brug verwijderen
Gezien alle lof en hoge verwachtingen, spreekt het voor zich dat het Scholpp-team zeer veel aandacht besteedde aan de eerste taak van de AC 7.450-1. En het nieuwe model stelde niet teleur: met een ballast van 130 ton en zijn krachtige prestatiekenmerken kon hij 's nachts de 45-tons "Daimlersteg" bij het treinstation van Sindelfingen met een straal van 18,5 meter omhoog tillen, zwenken opzij en zet hem op de grond.
"Achteraf gezien was dat kinderspel voor onze AC 7.450-1, maar het was belangrijk omdat het vitale ruimte creëerde voor de nieuwe mobiliteitsaanpak die daar zal worden gebruikt", meldt kraanmachinist Oliver Busch.
Spectaculair vervolgproject in Tübingen
Korte tijd daarna wachtte de Tadano zevenassige kraan een veel grotere uitdaging. Bij het tweede project van de eenheid reisde het naar een andere werklocatie in Tübingen, waar het opnieuw aan een brugproject zou werken. Maar dan op een heel andere schaal. “Voor de bouw van een nieuwe fietsbrug hebben we eigenlijk in totaal 60 funderingsliften moeten uitvoeren”, vertelt Frank Wolber, salesmanager grote kranen bij de Scholpp-vestiging in Leonberg.
Dit betekende dat het team een kraan nodig had die vooral aan twee eisen zou kunnen voldoen: krachtig hefvermogen en een compact ontwerp. De klus die nodig was om de negen ton zware brugfunderingen te hijsen met een indrukwekkende radius van 60 meter – en op een werklocatie waar de ruimte bovendien extreem krap was.
Op de werf zelf komen was geen probleem: de AC 7.450-1 deed er samen met vier vrachtwagens in slechts een uur over. Eenmaal daar was het vijfkoppige Scholpp-team in staat om de AC 7.450-1 in slechts vier uur op te zetten, ondanks de krappe ruimteomstandigheden. "De manier waarop deze kraan is ontworpen om de montage te vergemakkelijken, was daar absoluut essentieel", benadrukt Frank Wolber.
Voor de komende liften koos het team voor een SSL-configuratie met een gieklengte van 70 meter, 150 ton ballast en driedelige inscheerinrichting met volledig uitgeschoven stempels. Het nieuwe technische ontwerp achter het Sideways Superlift-systeem bleek een cruciaal voordeel voor de klus te zijn: de Superlift-armen zijn helemaal vooraan gemonteerd, op de kop van het basisgedeelte, wat betekent dat ze uiteindelijk langer zijn en dienovereenkomstig goed geschikt zijn tot grotere hijscapaciteiten.
En als we het dan toch over hijsvermogen hebben, betekent dit dat de AC 7.450-1 aanzienlijk beter is dan andere zevenassige kranen. "Negen ton hijsen met een straal van 60 meter is echt een prestatie voor een zevenassige eenheid, en toch had onze kraan nog meer kunnen verwerken", zegt Frank Wolber, duidelijk onder de indruk van de krachtige prestaties van de AC 7.450-1 en de manier waarop het de hele zeven weken probleemloos liep op de werkplek. Zijn conclusie nadat het project met succes was voltooid, is net zo positief: “De Tadano AC 7.450-1 liet zien dat het een echt werkpaard is gedurende het zeven weken durende project, waarin het continu werkte – wat ongeveer was wat we verwachtten van de ontvangst -go,” vat hij blij samen.
