Au cœur de la région de Porta Westfalica, en Allemagne, la gravière de Bokshorn écrit un nouveau chapitre de son histoire. Face à l’extension de sa zone d’extraction, cette entreprise familiale riche de plus de 140 ans de tradition a fait le choix d’une solution à la hauteur de ses ambitions : la grue à câbles SENNEBOGEN 6100 E. Un investissement stratégique qui conjugue efficacité, flexibilité et durabilité.

Fondée en 1882, la gravière de Bokshorn — aujourd’hui implantée sur son troisième site — produit chaque année près de 150 000 tonnes de sable et de gravier destinés à l’industrie du béton, aux éléments préfabriqués et aux pavés. Lorsque Henrik Franke a repris les rênes de l’entreprise familiale en 2024, l’agrandissement de la zone d’extraction s’est imposé comme une évidence. Mais pour exploiter pleinement ce nouveau potentiel, un renouvellement du parc machines était indispensable.

L’ancien système de raclage électrique, fiable mais rigide, a alors laissé place à une solution bien plus polyvalente : la grue à câbles SENNEBOGEN 6100 HD de 100 tonnes.

Une machine conçue sur mesure pour les exigences du terrain

« En recherchant une solution plus flexible pour notre carrière agrandie, les grues à câbles SENNEBOGEN se sont rapidement imposées », explique Henrik Franke. Grâce au partenaire commercial Louis Scheuch, une première phase de test avec une machine de location de 70 tonnes a permis de valider le concept. Le choix final s’est porté sur la version 100 tonnes, équipée d’un godet dragline de 3,5 m³.

Ici, la priorité n’est pas la vitesse, mais l’efficacité durable. Une profondeur d’extraction souhaitée de 12 mètres a déterminé les dimensions de la machine. La flèche treillis de 29,9 mètres, associée à un système de guidage précis des câbles grâce aux galets de déviation intégrés, garantit un dragage à la fois doux, sûr et extrêmement précis. Le godet peut être positionné loin devant la machine, préservant ainsi les berges aussi longtemps que possible — un atout majeur pour la stabilité du site.

Une flexibilité totale sur l’ensemble du site

Montée sur un châssis à chenilles, la SENNEBOGEN 6100 HD se distingue par sa mobilité exceptionnelle. Elle se déplace facilement d’une zone à l’autre et s’adapte à des missions très variées. Renaturation des terrains, creusement de canaux pour l’alimentation en eau des pompes, travaux ponctuels dans les anciennes zones d’extraction : autant d’interventions qui peuvent désormais être réalisées en interne, sans recourir à des prestataires extérieurs.

Autre avantage décisif : l’indépendance énergétique. Contrairement à l’ancienne installation, la nouvelle grue ne nécessite aucun raccordement électrique. Exploitée majoritairement à bas régime, elle affiche une consommation de carburant remarquablement faible, tout en conservant une réserve de puissance largement suffisante. « Nous travaillons à vitesse réduite, ce qui est très satisfaisant en termes de consommation. Et la machine offre toujours la performance dont nous avons besoin », se réjouit Henrik Franke.

Un projet couronné de succès

Du premier contact à la mise en service finale, le projet s’est déroulé sans accroc. La collaboration étroite entre Bokshorn, Louis Scheuch et SENNEBOGEN a permis de livrer une solution parfaitement adaptée aux besoins du site. Les opérateurs, Yury Starodub et Alexander Tschernischow, se montrent eux aussi enthousiastes : ils ont rapidement pris en main cette application exigeante et apprécient la précision et le confort de la machine.

Pour Henrik Franke, le bilan est sans appel :
« Avec le recul, je vois ce projet comme un véritable parcours, passionnant et couronné de succès. Nous disposons aujourd’hui d’une machine sur mesure, parfaitement adaptée à notre exploitation. L’engagement constant de M. Bräutigam chez Louis Scheuch et la disponibilité des équipes SENNEBOGEN ont été déterminants. »

In the heart of the Porta Westfalica region of Germany, the Bokshorn gravel pit is writing a new chapter in its history. Faced with the expansion of its extraction area, this family business, boasting over 140 years of tradition, chose a solution that matches its ambitions: the SENNEBOGEN 6100 E cable crane. A strategic investment that combines efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability.

Founded in 1882, the Bokshorn gravel pit—now operating on its third site—produces nearly 150,000 tons of sand and gravel annually for the concrete industry, precast elements, and paving stones. When Henrik Franke took over the reins of the family business in 2024, expanding the extraction area became a natural step. But to fully exploit this new potential, a renewal of the machinery fleet was essential.

The old electric scraping system, reliable but rigid, was replaced by a much more versatile solution: the 100-tonne SENNEBOGEN 6100 HD cable crane.

A machine custom-designed for the site's requirements

"When looking for a more flexible solution for our expanded quarry, SENNEBOGEN cable cranes quickly emerged as the obvious choice," explains Henrik Franke. Thanks to sales partner Louis Scheuch, an initial testing phase with a 70-tonne rental machine validated the concept. The final choice was the 100-tonne version, equipped with a 3.5 m³ dragline bucket.

Here, the priority is not speed, but sustainable efficiency. A desired extraction depth of 12 meters determined the machine's dimensions. The 29.9-meter lattice boom, combined with a precise cable guidance system thanks to integrated deflection rollers, ensures dredging that is gentle, safe, and extremely precise. The bucket can be positioned far in front of the machine, thus preserving the banks for as long as possible—a major advantage for site stability.

Total flexibility across the entire site

Mounted on a tracked chassis, the SENNEBOGEN 6100 HD stands out for its exceptional mobility. It moves easily from one area to another and adapts to a wide variety of tasks. Land restoration, digging channels for pump water supply, and occasional work in former extraction areas: all these operations can now be carried out in-house, without resorting to external contractors.

Another decisive advantage: energy independence. Unlike the previous installation, the new crane requires no electrical connection. Operated primarily at low speeds, it boasts remarkably low fuel consumption while maintaining ample power reserves. “We work at reduced speeds, which is very satisfactory in terms of fuel consumption. And the machine always delivers the performance we need,” says a delighted Henrik Franke.

A Successful Project

From the initial contact to final commissioning, the project proceeded without a hitch. The close collaboration between Bokshorn, Louis Scheuch, and SENNEBOGEN resulted in a solution perfectly tailored to the site's needs. Operators Yury Starodub and Alexander Tschernischow are equally enthusiastic: they quickly mastered this demanding application and appreciate the machine's precision and comfort.

For Henrik Franke, the outcome is clear:

“Looking back, I see this project as a truly exciting and successful journey. We now have a custom-built machine, perfectly suited to our operations.” Mr. Bräutigam's unwavering commitment to Louis Scheuch and the availability of the SENNEBOGEN teams were crucial.

With the SENNEBOGEN 6100 E, the Bokshorn gravel pit has not only acquired a new machine, but has also gained greater freedom, efficiency, and peace of mind for decades to come.

In het hart van de regio Porta Westfalica in Duitsland slaat de grindgroeve Bokshorn een nieuw hoofdstuk in haar geschiedenis. Geconfronteerd met de uitbreiding van haar winningsgebied, koos dit familiebedrijf, met meer dan 140 jaar traditie, voor een oplossing die aansluit bij haar ambities: de SENNEBOGEN 6100 E kabelkraan. Een strategische investering die efficiëntie, flexibiliteit en duurzaamheid combineert.

De grindgroeve Bokshorn, opgericht in 1882 en inmiddels actief op haar derde locatie, produceert jaarlijks bijna 150.000 ton zand en grind voor de betonindustrie, prefab elementen en bestrating. Toen Henrik Franke in 2024 de leiding van het familiebedrijf overnam, was de uitbreiding van het winningsgebied een logische stap. Maar om dit nieuwe potentieel volledig te benutten, was een vernieuwing van het machinepark essentieel.

Het oude, betrouwbare maar starre elektrische baggersysteem werd vervangen door een veelzijdiger oplossing: de 100-tons SENNEBOGEN 6100 HD kabelkraan.

Een machine op maat gemaakt voor de specifieke eisen van de locatie

"Toen we op zoek waren naar een flexibelere oplossing voor onze groeiende steengroeve, bleken SENNEBOGEN kabelkranen al snel de voor de hand liggende keuze", legt Henrik Franke uit. Dankzij verkooppartner Louis Scheuch werd het concept in een eerste testfase met een 70-tons huurmachine gevalideerd. De uiteindelijke keuze viel op de 100-tons versie, uitgerust met een 3,5 m³ baggerbak.

Hier staat snelheid niet voorop, maar duurzame efficiëntie. Een gewenste baggerdiepte van 12 meter bepaalde de afmetingen van de machine. De 29,9 meter lange vakwerkarm, in combinatie met een nauwkeurig kabelgeleidingssysteem dankzij geïntegreerde afbuigrollen, zorgt voor een zachte, veilige en uiterst precieze baggerbewerking. De graafbak kan ver voor de machine worden geplaatst, waardoor de oevers zo lang mogelijk intact blijven – een groot voordeel voor de stabiliteit van de bouwplaats.

Totale flexibiliteit op de gehele bouwplaats

De SENNEBOGEN 6100 HD, gemonteerd op een rupschassis, onderscheidt zich door zijn uitzonderlijke mobiliteit. Hij verplaatst zich gemakkelijk van de ene naar de andere locatie en is geschikt voor een breed scala aan taken. Terreinherstel, het graven van kanalen voor de watervoorziening van pompen en incidentele werkzaamheden in voormalige winningsgebieden: al deze werkzaamheden kunnen nu intern worden uitgevoerd, zonder externe aannemers in te schakelen.

Nog een doorslaggevend voordeel: energieonafhankelijkheid. In tegenstelling tot de vorige installatie heeft de nieuwe kraan geen elektrische aansluiting nodig. Omdat hij voornamelijk op lage snelheden werkt, heeft hij een opmerkelijk laag brandstofverbruik met ruime vermogensreserves. "We werken op lagere snelheden, wat zeer gunstig is voor het brandstofverbruik. En de machine levert altijd de prestaties die we nodig hebben", aldus een enthousiaste Henrik Franke.

Een succesvol project

Van het eerste contact tot de uiteindelijke ingebruikname verliep het project vlekkeloos. De nauwe samenwerking tussen Bokshorn, Louis Scheuch en SENNEBOGEN resulteerde in een oplossing die perfect aansloot op de behoeften van de locatie. Machinisten Yury Starodub en Alexander Tschernischow zijn eveneens enthousiast: ze beheersten deze veeleisende toepassing snel en waarderen de precisie en het comfort van de machine.

Voor Henrik Franke is de uitkomst duidelijk:

“Terugkijkend zie ik dit project als een werkelijk spannende en succesvolle reis. We hebben nu een op maat gemaakte machine, perfect afgestemd op onze werkzaamheden.” De onwrikbare betrokkenheid van de heer Bräutigam bij Louis Scheuch en de beschikbaarheid van de SENNEBOGEN-teams waren cruciaal.

Met de SENNEBOGEN 6100 E heeft de grindgroeve van Bokshorn niet alleen een nieuwe machine gekregen, maar ook meer vrijheid, efficiëntie en gemoedsrust voor de komende decennia.
