Alexander Susanek a été nommé directeur de l'exploitation chez Palfinger, fabricant de grues, d'équipements de manutention et d'accès.
Susanek était auparavant directeur général de BMW Motoren en Autriche et également responsable de la production de moteurs chez BMW Group. Il prendra ses fonctions au sein du conseil d'administration de Palfinger le 1er juillet 2023, dirigeant avec la responsabilité de la transformation en cours. Il succède à Martin Zehnder, qui était dans l'entreprise depuis 15 ans.

Transformation et croissance

Susanek a étudié l'ingénierie mécanique et industrielle à l'Université technique de Munich en Allemagne, puis a obtenu son doctorat en administration des affaires à l'Université Ludwig-Maximilians de Munich. Il a débuté sa carrière en 2005 chez MAN Truck & Bus.
En 2014, il rejoint le groupe BMW. Après son travail en tant que responsable de la construction de prototypes de voitures à Munich et responsable de l'assemblage à l'usine de Ratisbonne, il a pris la direction de la plus grande usine de moteurs du groupe BMW au monde à Steyr, en Autriche, en 2020 en tant que directeur général de BMW Motoren GmbH. Alexander Susanek has been appointed chief operating officer at crane, materials handling and access equipment manufacturer Palfinger.
Susanek was formerly managing director at BMW Motoren in Austria and also head of engine production at the BMW Group. He takes up the role on the Palfinger executive board on 1 July 2023, leading with responsibility for the ongoing transformation. He succeeds Martin Zehnder, who was at the company for 15 years.
“With Alexander Susanek as COO, we are securing the transformation of Palfinger into a leading global technology company on a long-term and sustainable basis,” said Hubert Palfinger, chairman of the Supervisory Board.
In particular, his extensive experience in various operational areas and key positions at both MAN Trucks and the BMW Group makes the native German ideal for the position, Palfinger said.
Transformation and growth
“With its Vision and Strategy 2030, Palfinger is equipped with an ambitious answer to the challenges of the future. I am looking forward to the opportunity to proactively drive Palfinger’s transformation and growth with my colleagues on the executive board. Together with the entire Palfinger team, we will continue to expand our global market leadership,” Susanek said.
Susanek studied mechanical and industrial engineering at the Technical University of Munich in Germany and then completed his doctorate in business administration at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. He began his career in 2005 at MAN Truck & Bus.
In 2014 he moved to the BMW Group. Following his work as head of prototype car construction in Munich and assembly manager at the Regensburg plant, he took over management of the world’s largest BMW Group engine plant in Steyr, Austria, in 2020 as managing director of BMW Motoren GmbH. From November 2022 he was responsible for worldwide engine production at BMW.

Alexander Susanek is aangesteld als chief operating officer bij fabrikant van kranen, intern transport en hoogwerkers Palfinger.
Susanek was voorheen algemeen directeur bij BMW Motoren in Oostenrijk en tevens hoofd motorproductie bij de BMW Group. Hij treedt op 1 juli 2023 toe tot de raad van bestuur van Palfinger en leidt met verantwoordelijkheid voor de voortdurende transformatie. Hij volgt Martin Zehnder op, die 15 jaar bij het bedrijf werkte.
"Met Alexander Susanek als COO verzekeren we de transformatie van Palfinger tot een toonaangevend wereldwijd technologiebedrijf op een duurzame en duurzame basis", aldus Hubert Palfinger, voorzitter van de Raad van Commissarissen.
Met name zijn uitgebreide ervaring in verschillende operationele gebieden en sleutelposities bij zowel MAN Trucks als de BMW Group maakt de autochtone Duitser ideaal voor de functie, aldus Palfinger.
Transformatie en groei

Susanek studeerde werktuigbouwkunde en industriële techniek aan de Technische Universiteit van München in Duitsland en voltooide vervolgens zijn doctoraat in bedrijfskunde aan de Ludwig-Maximilians-Universiteit in München. Hij begon zijn carrière in 2005 bij MAN Truck & Bus.
In 2014 maakte hij de overstap naar BMW Group.
