Face à l’intensification des besoins en prévention des incendies et à la gestion accrue des massifs forestiers dans l’ouest des États-Unis, Tigercat Industries franchit une nouvelle étape en présentant le LX825, un porteur forestier compact à chenilles conçu pour allier agilité, précision et polyvalence. Le prototype sera officiellement dévoilé en février lors de la Sierra-Casade Logging Conference, à Anderson, en Californie.

Reposant sur la même plateforme supérieure que l’abatteuse-façonneuse emblématique LX830E, le LX825 se distingue par un gabarit plus léger, une vitesse accrue et une cinématique à quasi-zéro porte-à-faux arrière, idéale pour évoluer dans des peuplements denses. Son tout nouveau châssis à mise à niveau renforce la stabilité et le contrôle sur terrains accidentés, tout en améliorant le confort et la précision des opérations.

Pensé comme un véritable outil multifonction, le LX825 peut être configuré avec deux systèmes hydrauliques. En version standard, il adopte l’hydraulique d’une abatteuse classique. En option, un système hydraulique convertible permet de passer rapidement d’un équipement à l’autre : scie à disque, scie intermittente, scie à chaîne, cisaille ou tête de broyage. Cette modularité offre aux entrepreneurs forestiers la liberté de broyer les broussailles, le sous-étage et les bois indésirables, tout en conservant la capacité d’abattre des arbres valorisables lorsque nécessaire.

Grâce à sa compacité, sa rapidité de déplacement et sa grande maniabilité, le LX825 se prête parfaitement aux travaux de débroussaillage sélectif et d’éclaircie de précision, contribuant à la réduction des charges combustibles et au renforcement de la résilience des écosystèmes forestiers.

Pour accompagner ce nouveau porteur, Tigercat présente également la tête de broyage TCi 4154-15, spécifiquement développée pour s’intégrer harmonieusement au LX825. Conçue pour faciliter l’entretien, elle offre un accès direct aux points de service et aux pièces d’usure. Son entrée de matière et sa chambre de broyage sont optimisées pour aspirer efficacement les débris et les mastiquer intégralement avant leur évacuation, garantissant ainsi un traitement forestier homogène et de haute qualité. Le poignet de la tête pivote jusqu’à 130 degrés de chaque côté, assurant une dextérité maximale dans les interventions en sous-bois ou en zones confinées. Un râteau à fixation rapide vient compléter l’ensemble pour dégager efficacement les branchages et résidus.

Tigercat Unveils a Versatile Forwarder for Sustainable Forest Management

In response to the increasing need for fire prevention and the growing management of forest stands in the western United States, Tigercat Industries is taking another step forward with the introduction of the LX825, a compact tracked forwarder designed to combine agility, precision, and versatility. The prototype will be officially unveiled in February at the Sierra-Casade Logging Conference in Anderson, California.

Based on the same superior platform as the iconic LX830E harvester, the LX825 features a lighter footprint, increased speed, and a near-zero rear overhang kinematic design, ideal for working in dense stands. Its all-new leveling chassis enhances stability and control on uneven terrain, while improving operator comfort and precision.

Designed as a true multi-purpose tool, the LX825 can be configured with two hydraulic systems. In its standard configuration, it uses the hydraulics of a conventional harvester. An optional convertible hydraulic system allows for quick switching between different attachments: disc saw, intermittent saw, chainsaw, shear, or mulching head. This modularity gives forestry contractors the freedom to mulch brush, understory, and unwanted timber, while retaining the ability to harvest valuable trees when needed.

Thanks to its compact size, speed, and maneuverability, the LX825 is ideally suited for selective brush clearing and precision thinning, contributing to reduced fuel costs and enhanced resilience of forest ecosystems.

To complement this new carrier, Tigercat is also introducing the TCi 4154-15 mulching head, specifically developed to integrate seamlessly with the LX825. Designed for ease of maintenance, it offers direct access to service points and wear parts. Its material inlet and mulching chamber are optimized to efficiently vacuum debris and fully mulch it before discharge, ensuring consistent, high-quality forestry processing. The head handle pivots up to 130 degrees to either side, providing maximum dexterity when working in undergrowth or confined areas. A quick-attach rake completes the package for efficiently clearing branches and debris.

With the LX825 and the TCi 4154-15, Tigercat offers a complete and scalable solution designed to meet today's forestry management challenges: safety, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

Als reactie op de toenemende behoefte aan brandpreventie en het groeiende beheer van bosbestanden in het westen van de Verenigde Staten, zet Tigercat Industries een volgende stap met de introductie van de LX825, een compacte rupsband-houttransportmachine die is ontworpen om wendbaarheid, precisie en veelzijdigheid te combineren.
