Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) a créé une unité commerciale dédiée pour diriger ses efforts d'électrification et d'alimentation durable dans le secteur des équipements compacts. L'OEM affirme que cette décision stratégique a été prise pour stimuler la croissance et la rentabilité de ce segment de produits en expansion.
L'industrie de la construction a connu une croissance importante dans le monde en raison de l'augmentation de la population et de l'urbanisation, ce qui a donc entraîné une demande accrue d'équipements compacts. Volvo CE affirme que le secteur représente désormais 50 % du marché total, une augmentation substantielle par rapport aux 35 % d'il y a dix ans, avec une croissance supplémentaire attendue à l'avenir.
À partir de septembre 2023, Thomas Bitter, Head of Technology de Volvo CE, assumera le rôle de Head of the Compact Business Unit.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has established a dedicated business unit to spearhead its electrification and sustainable power efforts in the compact equipment sector. The OEM says that this strategic move has been made to drive growth and profitability in this expanding product segment.
The construction industry has experienced significant growth worldwide due to population increase and urbanization, this has therefore resulted in a heightened demand for compact equipment. Volvo CE says that the sector now represents 50% of the total market, a substantial increase from 35% a decade ago, with further growth expected in the future.
Starting from September 2023, Thomas Bitter, Volvo CE’s Head of Technology, will assume the role of Head of the Compact Business Unit.
Bitter says, “Our pioneering work in electrification and digitalization has positioned us as an innovator in compact equipment. Given the segment’s ever-growing impact on the market, we are dedicating our focus to our compact machine portfolio, delivering productive and sustainable products and services to our customers. Those who join us on this journey will not only develop specialized skills in this vital area but also play an integral role in our broader mission of shaping the world we desire.”
The newly formed Compact Business Unit will consist of dedicated individuals from within Volvo CE, as well as external talent, who are said to share a strong commitment and enthusiasm for the cause.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) heeft een speciale business unit opgericht om de elektrificatie en duurzame energie-inspanningen in de sector van compacte machines te leiden. De OEM zegt dat deze strategische stap is gezet om de groei en winstgevendheid in dit groeiende productsegment te stimuleren.
De bouwsector heeft wereldwijd een aanzienlijke groei doorgemaakt als gevolg van bevolkingstoename en verstedelijking, wat heeft geresulteerd in een grotere vraag naar compact materieel. Volvo CE zegt dat de sector nu 50% van de totale markt vertegenwoordigt, een aanzienlijke stijging ten opzichte van 35% tien jaar geleden, met verdere groei verwacht in de toekomst.
Vanaf september 2023 zal Thomas Bitter, Head of Technology van Volvo CE, de rol van hoofd van de Compact Business Unit op zich nemen.
