Volvo Trucks a remporté le prestigieux prix de l'industrie pour son Volvo FH Electric. C’est la première fois qu’un camion électrique remporte ce prix.
Le camion électrique lourd de Volvo, le Volvo FH Electric, a été sélectionné comme Camion international de l'année 2024. En expliquant sa décision, le jury a salué les performances du camion électrique, ses accélérations fluides, son silence et son comportement sans vibrations.
« Avec l'introduction du FH Electric, Volvo Trucks propose une gamme de véhicules électriques à batterie de pointe, adaptée à un large éventail d'opérations de transport. C'est la preuve que la transition énergétique gagne en force, même dans le contexte économique difficile d'aujourd'hui », a déclaré Gianenrico Griffini, président de l'International Truck of the Year.
Roger Alm, président de Volvo Trucks, a accepté ce prestigieux prix hier soir lors de la cérémonie de remise des prix au salon Solutrans Transport à Lyon, en France.
« Je suis très fier que notre Volvo FH Electric ait remporté ce prix très respecté. Pour la première fois dans l'histoire, l'industrie du transport a élu un véhicule électrique comme camion de l'année. Le Volvo FH Electric représente une nouvelle ère dans le secteur du camionnage et le fait de remporter ce prix montre clairement que la transition vers un transport à zéro émission se produit ici et maintenant », a commenté Roger Alm.

Gagner pour la quatrième fois
C’est la quatrième fois que le modèle emblématique FH de Volvo est nommé Camion de l’année. Le Volvo FH est l'un des modèles les plus réussis de l'industrie avec près de 1,4 million de camions vendus dans le monde.
Le Volvo FH Electric peut fonctionner avec un total de 44 tonnes. La production du Volvo FH Electric a débuté en 2022 dans l’usine Volvo de Göteborg, en Suède, et la production dans l’usine de Gand, en Belgique, a débuté en 2023.
Un programme complet de camions électriques
Volvo Trucks a été le premier constructeur mondial à démarrer la production en série de camions électriques dès 2019 et propose aujourd'hui une large gamme électrique avec un total de six camions électriques conçus pour gérer une grande variété de missions de transport. Volvo Trucks est leader sur le marché des camions électriques lourds en Europe avec une part de marché de 49 %.
Camion international de l'année
L'organisation International Truck of the Year a été lancée en 1977 et est composée de 24 journalistes de véhicules utilitaires issus des principaux magazines de camionnage de toute l'Europe. Ce prix annuel est décerné au camion introduit sur le marché au cours des 12 mois précédents et qui a apporté la contribution la plus significative à l'efficacité du transport routier. Plusieurs critères clés sont évalués, notamment l'innovation technologique, le confort, la sécurité, la maniabilité, l'efficacité énergétique, « l'empreinte » environnementale et le coût total de possession (TCO).

Volvo FH Electric wins “Truck of the Year 2024” award

Volvo Trucks has scooped the prestigious industry award for its Volvo FH Electric. It’s the first time ever that an electric truck wins the award.
Volvo’s heavy electric truck, the Volvo FH Electric, has been selected as International Truck of the Year 2024. In explaining their decision, the jury praised the electric truck’s performance, seamless acceleration, quietness, and vibration-free behavior.
“With the introduction of the FH Electric, Volvo Trucks has delivered a state-of-the-art battery electric vehicle range, suitable for a wide array of transport operations. It's proof that the energy transition is gaining strength even in today's challenging business environment,” stated Gianenrico Griffini, Chairman, International Truck of the Year.
Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, accepted the prestigious award last night during the prize ceremony at the Solutrans Transport Exhibition in Lyon, France.
“I am so very proud that our Volvo FH Electric has won this highly respected award. For the first time in history the transport industry has chosen an electric vehicle as Truck of the Year. The Volvo FH Electric represents a new era in trucking and winning this award clearly shows that the shift to zero emission transport is happening here and now,” commented Roger Alm.
“I sincerely want to thank everyone who has contributed to this success. It’s based on great teamwork with passion and dedication among our colleagues within the Volvo Group, and close cooperation with our valued customers, partners and suppliers.”
Winning for the fourth time
This is the fourth time that Volvo’s iconic FH model has been named Truck of the Year. The Volvo FH is one of the industry's most successful models ever with nearly 1.4 million trucks sold all over the world.
The Volvo FH Electric can operate at a total of 44 tonnes. Production of the Volvo FH Electric started in 2022 in Volvo’s factory in Gothenburg, Sweden, and production in the factory in Ghent, Belgium began in 2023.
A complete electric truck program
Volvo Trucks was the first global manufacturer to start series production of electric trucks already in 2019, and today it has a broad electric line-up with a total of six electric trucks designed to handle a wide variety of transport assignments. Volvo Trucks is leading the market for heavy electric trucks in Europe with a market share of 49%.
International Truck of the Year
The International Truck of the Year organization was launched in 1977 and is made up of 24 commercial vehicle journalists from major trucking magazines throughout Europe. The annual award is given to the truck introduced in the market in the previous 12 months that has made the most significant contribution to road transport efficiency. Several key criteria are evaluated, including technological innovation, comfort, safety, driveability, energy efficiency, environmental 'footprint', and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Volvo Trucks heeft de prestigieuze brancheprijs gewonnen voor zijn Volvo FH Electric. Het is de eerste keer ooit dat een elektrische vrachtwagen de prijs wint.
De zware elektrische vrachtwagen van Volvo, de Volvo FH Electric, is geselecteerd als International Truck of the Year 2024. Bij de toelichting van hun beslissing prees de jury de prestaties, de naadloze acceleratie, de stilte en het trillingsvrije gedrag van de elektrische vrachtwagen.
“Met de introductie van de FH Electric heeft Volvo Trucks een reeks ultramoderne elektrische voertuigen op batterijen geleverd, geschikt voor een breed scala aan transportactiviteiten. Voor de vierde keer gewonnen
Dit is de vierde keer dat Volvo’s iconische FH-model wordt uitgeroepen tot Truck of the Year. De Volvo FH is een van de meest succesvolle modellen ooit in de sector, met bijna 1,4 miljoen verkochte vrachtwagens over de hele wereld.
