Volvo Trucks continue de pénétrer de nouveaux marchés avec ses camions électriques à batterie. L'entreprise a désormais livré ses premiers camions électriques lourds en Amérique latine, les véhicules étant destinés à des clients au Brésil, au Chili et en Uruguay. Ainsi, Volvo a livré des camions électriques à des clients sur six continents et dans 45 pays.
 
Il existe un intérêt croissant parmi les entreprises de transport de ces pays pour passer à des méthodes de transport lourd plus durables, comme le démontrent ces commandes. Le Brésil est un marché important pour Volvo Trucks : en 2022, Volvo a livré 26 159 camions à des clients au Brésil.

Au Brésil, Reiter Log, l'un des plus grands opérateurs logistiques du pays, commencera à utiliser cinq véhicules Volvo FM Electric sur différents itinéraires. Les camions seront loués via Volvo Financial Services. Au Chili, les deux sociétés SQM et El Libertador ont chacune commencé à utiliser un camion Volvo FH Electric. En Uruguay, un Volvo FM Electric sera utilisé par Bitafal.
 
Les versions électriques du Volvo FH et du Volvo FM peuvent fonctionner avec un poids total de 44 tonnes. Les camions peuvent avoir une autonomie allant jusqu'à 300 kilomètres avec une charge complète.
 
Un programme complet de camions électriques
Volvo Trucks a été le premier constructeur mondial à lancer la production en série de camions électriques en 2019. Aujourd'hui, il propose une large gamme électrique avec un total de six camions électriques capables d'effectuer une grande variété de missions de transport, notamment la distribution urbaine et la manutention des déchets, transports régionaux et travaux de construction. There is a growing interest among transport companies in these countries to shift to more sustainable heavy transport methods, as demonstrated by these orders. Brazil is an important market for Volvo Trucks, in 2022 Volvo delivered 26,159 trucks to customers in Brazil.
 
“Many haulers in Latin America have high ambitions regarding zero-emission truck transport. We are very proud and excited to have been chosen to support our customers as they now start their electrification journey. We believe that more transport companies will soon follow,” says Wilson Lirmann, President of Volvo Trucks Latin America.
 
In Brazil, Reiter Log, which is one of the largest logistics operators in Brazil, will begin using five Volvo FM Electric vehicles on various routes. The trucks will be rented through Volvo Financial Services.  In Chile, the two companies SQM and El Libertador have each begun using one Volvo FH Electric truck. In Uruguay, a Volvo FM Electric will be used by Bitafal.
 
The electric versions of Volvo FH and Volvo FM can operate at a total weight of 44 tonnes. The trucks can have a range of up to 300 kilometers on a full charge.
 
A complete electric truck program
Volvo Trucks was the first global manufacturer to start serial production of electric trucks in 2019. Today it has a broad electric line-up with a total of six electric trucks that can handle a wide variety of transport assignments, including city distribution and refuse handling, regional transport and construction work. Volvo Trucks is aiming for 50% of global sales of new Volvo trucks to be electric in 2030.
