un chantier peu ordinaire prenait forme. Là où la pente semblait défier toute logique humaine, deux rouleaux tandem électriques HD 12e de Hamm AG se frayaient un chemin, prêts à relever un défi inédit : participer à l’agrandissement du réservoir de tête de Rabenleite, essentiel au fonctionnement de la centrale hydroélectrique de pompage de Reisach.

Dans cet amphithéâtre de terre et de vent, les petites machines électriques se démarquaient par une assurance presque silencieuse. Leur mission était pourtant colossale : contribuer à augmenter la capacité du réservoir, déjà capable de contenir 1,5 million de mètres cubes d’eau. Pour atteindre cet objectif ambitieux, la digue circulaire de 1 600 mètres devait voir sa crête rehaussée de 77 centimètres — une transformation stratégique pour garantir un volume supplémentaire de près de 6 %.

Mais le véritable défi se trouvait ailleurs : sur les pentes abruptes du talus, où l’inclinaison flirtait dangereusement avec les 40 %. Là où les machines diesel auraient exigé de lourdes adaptations, les HD 12e électriques, elles, s'adaptèrent presque naturellement. Quelques ajustements mineurs suffirent pour les préparer à affronter cette géométrie extrême.

La sécurité demeurait pourtant la clé de voûte de l’opération. Les deux compacteurs furent solidaires : unis par des câbles d’acier et assurés à un excavateur posté au sommet, ils avançaient comme deux compagnons de cordée. Lorsque l’un descendait, l’autre, tel un grimpeur vigilent, le retenait et le stabilisait. Ensemble, ils compac-taient avec une précision remarquable l’asphalte spécial qui recouvrait le talus.

Leur murmure discret contrastait avec la rudesse du chantier. Sans bruit excessif, sans émissions locales, les HD 12e accomplissaient leur tâche avec efficacité et constance. Leur performance, aussi fiable que surprenante, impressionna les équipes mobilisées. À tel point que leur participation à de nouveaux projets, notamment en Suisse, fut rapidement envisagée.

À la fin des travaux, l’avis était unanime : ces rouleaux tandem électriques n’étaient pas seulement de simples machines. Ils avaient démontré qu’ils pouvaient relever les défis les plus extrêmes, se montrer sûrs, puissants et précis, tout en ouvrant la voie à une nouvelle génération d’engins durables pour les chantiers exigeants.

High in the wild hills of the Upper Palatinate Forest,

an unusual construction site was taking shape. Where the slope seemed to defy all human logic, two HD 12e electric tandem rollers from Hamm AG were forging their way through the landscape, ready to take on a unique challenge: contributing to the expansion of the Rabenleite head reservoir, essential for the operation of the Reisach pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant.

In this amphitheater of earth and wind, the small electric machines stood out with their almost silent confidence. Their mission, however, was colossal: to help increase the reservoir's capacity, which already held 1.5 million cubic meters of water. To achieve this ambitious goal, the 1,600-meter circular dam had to have its crest raised by 77 centimeters—a strategic transformation to guarantee an additional volume of nearly 6%.

But the real challenge lay elsewhere: on the steep slopes of the embankment, where the incline flirted dangerously with 40%. Where diesel machines would have required extensive modifications, the electric HD 12e compactors adapted almost seamlessly. A few minor adjustments were all that was needed to prepare them for this extreme terrain.

Safety, however, remained the cornerstone of the operation. The two compactors worked in tandem: connected by steel cables and secured to an excavator positioned at the top, they advanced like two climbing partners. When one descended, the other, like a vigilant climber, held and stabilized it. Together, they compacted the special asphalt covering the embankment with remarkable precision.

Their quiet hum contrasted sharply with the harshness of the worksite. Without excessive noise or local emissions, the HD 12e compactors performed their task efficiently and consistently. Their performance, as reliable as it was surprising, impressed the teams involved. So much so that their participation in new projects, particularly in Switzerland, was quickly considered.

At the end of the project, the consensus was unanimous: these electric tandem rollers were not just simple machines. They had demonstrated their ability to meet the most extreme challenges, proving safe, powerful, and precise, while paving the way for a new generation of durable equipment for demanding construction sites.

ontstond een ongewone bouwplaats. Waar de helling alle menselijke logica leek te tarten, baanden twee elektrische tandemwalsen HD 12e van Hamm AG zich een weg door het landschap, klaar voor een unieke uitdaging: bijdragen aan de uitbreiding van het Rabenleite-reservoir, essentieel voor de werking van de pompcentrale Reisach.

In dit amfitheater van aarde en wind vielen de kleine elektrische machines op met hun bijna stille zelfvertrouwen. Hun missie was echter kolossaal: bijdragen aan de vergroting van de capaciteit van het reservoir, dat al 1,5 miljoen kubieke meter water bevatte. Een paar kleine aanpassingen waren voldoende om ze voor te bereiden op dit extreme terrein.

Veiligheid bleef echter de hoeksteen van de operatie. De twee walsen werkten samen: verbonden door staalkabels en vastgemaakt aan een graafmachine bovenaan, bewogen ze zich voort als twee klimpartners. Wanneer de ene afdaalde, hield de andere, als een waakzame klimmer, hem vast en stabiliseerde hem. Samen verdichtten ze het speciale asfalt dat de dijk bedekte met opmerkelijke precisie.

Hun zachte gezoem contrasteerde scherp met de ruwheid van de werklocatie. Zonder overmatig lawaai of lokale emissies voerden de HD 12e-walsen hun taak efficiënt en consistent uit. Hun prestaties, even betrouwbaar als verrassend, maakten indruk op de betrokken teams. Zozeer zelfs dat hun deelname aan nieuwe projecten, met name in Zwitserland, al snel werd overwogen.

Aan het einde van het project was de consensus unaniem: deze elektrische tandemwalsen waren niet zomaar eenvoudige machines.
