Cinq jours seulement après l'annonce de LiuGong concernant la construction de sa future usine d'engins électriques en Indonésie, XCMG frappe un grand coup. Le constructeur chinois vient d'inaugurer sa première base mondiale de fabrication d'équipements à énergie nouvelle située hors de Chine, au cœur du parc industriel de Weda Bay (IWIP). Un événement qui marque une nouvelle étape dans la course mondiale à l'électrification des engins destinés aux secteurs minier et des infrastructures.

La cérémonie d'inauguration a été immédiatement suivie d'un symbole fort : la sortie de chaîne des premiers chargeurs sur pneus électriques XC968-EV, livrés au géant industriel Tsingshan Group, partenaire stratégique de XCMG et acteur majeur de l'exploitation mondiale du nickel.

Le choix de Weda Bay n'a rien d'anodin. Cette région abrite la plus grande mine de nickel au monde, exploitée par Weda Bay Nickel, dont le capital est détenu par Tsingshan (51,3 %), le groupe français Eramet (37,8 %) et l'entreprise publique indonésienne PT Antam (10 %). Avec les immenses complexes miniers de Morowali, ce bassin représente aujourd'hui l'un des plus importants laboratoires mondiaux de la transition énergétique dans l'industrie extractive.

Déjà largement équipés de tombereaux électriques chinois tels que les XCMG XDR80TE ou les SANY SKT105E, ces sites constituent un marché stratégique pour la nouvelle génération d'engins miniers zéro émission. L'ouverture de cette usine donne désormais à XCMG un avantage décisif : produire localement des machines électriques capables de répondre rapidement à une demande appelée à exploser, tout en faisant de l'Indonésie une plateforme d'exportation vers l'ensemble de la région Asie-Pacifique.

The inauguration ceremony was immediately followed by a powerful symbol: the rollout of the first XC968-EV electric wheel loaders, delivered to the industrial giant Tsingshan Group, a strategic partner of XCMG and a major player in global nickel mining.

The choice of Weda Bay is far from insignificant. This region is home to the world's largest nickel mine, operated by Weda Bay Nickel, whose capital is held by Tsingshan (51.3%), the French group Eramet (37.8%), and the Indonesian state-owned company PT Antam (10%).
